I needed this book to supplement the main textbook for an introductory level political science college class and it was helpful for supplying a variety of new outlooks on current political issues. This book studies politics through multiple perspectives and its use of case studies is helpful to understand how real world problems are solved. It can be wordy and too philosophical at some points, but overall a good book for learning about political issues.

This book is a very good introduction on many global issues. The chapter with the case study of FGM is particulary interesting. Kelleher does a good job of representing both sides of an issue without producing a bias or preference towards one. The book is also at a pretty basic comprehension level so it is easy for most adults to read.
