I felt myself drawn by into my childhood where I had a pretty good relationship with fairies and trolls, ghosts and dragons yet was able to look at it from an adult point of view. Pretty unique writing skills here. I’m putting this down to the basic premise of this story. A Viking Runestone in Oklahoma. Where did you say? You heard me right, Oklahoma.
Dad’s a geologist out to prove a theory about the Vikings in Oklahoma. Ethan’s a cool kid out for adventure. And he gets one. In spades. Being enticed into a world populated with goodies and baddies in fantasyland has never been so easy. Any kid would give their eyeteeth to be in his shoes.
It changes Ethan’s view of history forever.
This book deserves to hit #1. I’m looking forward to sequels.
So-- then I immediately read "Return to Glome's Valley"
So fun with some of the characters from first book intertwined with new ones--Peggy is so descriptive that you can picture the characters--and the sounds they make, the archaeology, the Greek mythology, the Rosetta Stone and Heavener!
