This book indicates there is a light at the end of the tunnel. It seems fair to assume that the tunnel is a therefore getting shorter. Be assured this is not necessarily the case. Professor Sanders’ research is most likely unknown to most GPs and I wonder how many gastroenterologists are of the same opinion as the one I met. I had hoped to be offered a genetic test and when finally it was mentioned silence soon followed indicating this method was not an option - his way or no way at all; a very different level of understanding to that of Professor Sanders. When I referred to this book further silence followed before being quoted what sounded like yet another extract from the book but yet again totally contrary to the findings of the author.
Finding the right doctor is still a long way from being a simple procedure.
NB: The recipes mention soya sauce, for anyone new to gluten ensure it is Tamari
This book is well written. It should be read both by health professionals and patients seeking to understand the role of gluten in the production of ill health.
It is however nice to see something forthcoming in the UK from a reputable source on this subject.
