I see this as a reliable "starter" book. You don't have to be health nut; she has plenty of recipes that are yummy and not particularly "health conscious" (deep fried chinese pork, anyone?). So it's great for starting the transition to a gluten-free lifestyle.
Those who need to restrict corn or soy, which is common with gluten reactivity, will find a few recipes they may need to skip. Most however, utilize corn and soy in ways that allow for substitution (arrowroot for corn starch, for example). Frann doesn't pretend that this is the last word in gluten-free cooking. I think it fills a niche as a necessary primer for new-to-gluten-free food preparers. In addition, she has published a companion(?) cookbook that provides recipes for those who must also eliminate dairy from their diets.

More people are seeking ways to get and remain gluten free. Fran's book is a big step in that direction.
What I liked best was the fact that these recipes really are easy to make and a guy who is cooking-challenged, I can actually make some of these work in my kitchen!
Frann supplies more information than just recipes too - such as what gluten free means in different situations and the explanation of directions in the front.
Can't wait to try the pie crust recipes! This book is a go!
This book is well worth getting for anyone wanting or needing to eat gluten free.
It's well written and easy to understand and the only reason its not a 5+ star book is a like more photos with my recipe and cook books.
All in all, a great book!
