I bought this metal plate with the 24 magnetic jars, for hanging the jars somewhere other than the fridge. The plate is sturdy (~0.1" thick, 12 ga) stainless steel, with a polished "restaurant quality" finish, and shipped with a protective sheet over the front. It has four pre-drilled holes in the corners. But when mounted by those 4 holes, the plate bowed considerably when removing jars. Any jars further than an inch or so from any of the 4 corner holes pulled the plate away from the wall, in some cases significantly, as I pulled the jars off. The problem was so bad I had to drill a 5th hole in the middle of the plate and use screws in all 5 positions for mounting. With 5 anchor points it holds tightly to the wall, but as designed it is flawed.
24 MAGNETIC JARS:
I bought these 24 jars with the metal wall plate, for hanging the jars somewhere other than the fridge. The glass body and metal lid of each jar is very solid, and the magnets are strong. They confidently hold onto the fridge or the mounting plate on a wall without even the hint of slipping. One thing I noticed right away was that the magnets are not glued (or affixed in any way other than magnetically) to the inside surface of the jar lids. This makes no difference in the magnet's strength or functionality but it does make the jars seem just a little "cheaper". One big downside of the jars is their size. I could not even get the contents of a 1 ounce store-bought spice bottle into a single jar. I purchased the magnetic set to free up cabinet space that I'd no longer need for spice bottles/jars. I didn't throw a single original spice bottle or jar away when I transferred to the magnetic ones. Also, when I arrange them in a honeycomb array, as advertised, I found it very difficult to remove a jar from the middle. This is a testament to their magnetic strength but a knock against their practicality. I've resorted to leaving space between the jars, resulting in a broken honeycomb at best or mish-mosh at worst. The biggest upside to these jars in my opinion is their aesthetic. I've gotten compliments on how "cute", "modern" and "neat" they look.
Oh, and I didn't have any issues, so I didn't need to, but the customer service at Gneiss seems to be very easy to contact if needed!
