5 Stars---I've been thinking and thinking about how enjoyable this book was....going on two days now. I just can't seem to start reading another book just yet. I still have that feeling you get when a book touches you in some way. It's like I'm still reading it, but I've turned the last page, ages ago, it's that good. I guess that I needed that fun, laugh out loud, funny, not complicated, enjoyable read and didn't even know it. You saved the day Jennifer!

5 Stars--These is easily one of most entertaining romances that I have read. The inner dialogue of the heroine was humorous and clever, keeping me amused constantly. There was a suspense thread to the plot adding excitement, particularly at the end. The hero was suitably hot and the secondary characters good. What more could you want? More!-- carol55

5 Stars--Fabulous Opening. Truly funny. I really enjoyed this book. Loved Jane and Ty (who is mega-sexy!) Everyone should have a Goldie as a mother=in-law! I'm not sure when or why Gnomes became a hot item, but they were a nice addition to the story. Sex scenes hot. Loved them. I would recommend this book if you like your books contemporary, funny, and sexy. I'll be looking for Jennifer Zane's next book!--Cynthia

5 Stars--I've never read anything like this before. Such a great read! I've also never laughed out loud so much from a book in my life! Each character was so realistic and each added their own touch and influence to the story. Every laugh came out of left field and was perfectly written to blend with each event of the story.--AR Von

About the Author

Jennifer Zane has lived all over the country--from Georgia to Maryland, New York to Colorado, including an exciting five years in Montana. Her time in Big Sky country was the basis for this book. When she's not writing, she savors the insanity of raising two boys, is figuring out how many meals she can make with a pressure cooker, and teaches a pretty mean karate class. She currently lives with her family in Colorado.

Had no idea this book would be so graphic. Main character works at an "adult" store, meets fireman TY, within what one week, two??? they're going at it. There is a mystery involved even though it's a bit far-fetched. The author does have a comical writing style which I enjoyed, but I just thought the constant raw sex dialogue was over the top. The premise of something being hidden in gnome figures that bad guys want started out good, but what's in it just seemed silly. If you're not into graphic sex scenes and rude words, may want to pass this one up.

I bought this because the blurb cracked me up...and the book did not let me down. I laughed all the way through, and even got to experience a rather poignant romance. And then there's Ty...

Lots of sweet, and some serious spice that had me blushing, but then there's Ty...

...have I mentioned Ty?

*le sigh*

Based on the description I just had to pick up this book when it popped up in the kindle daily deals. I skimmed some reviews to see what I was getting myself into and was wondering if it was going to be a non stop sex romp considering the protagonist works in her town's only adult store. That's not the case. This book is an excellent blending of some adventure, some romance, some drama, lots of humor and lots of great characters.

The protagonist, Jane West is a VERY likable character. A widowed single mother of two she is pretty content in her life. While her mother in law (owner of said adult store) thinks she needs some bedroom action in the worst way, Jane's content to live her life having been mostly by herself since her husband died several years prior to the story's beginning. Her life turns topsy-turvy when several things happen on one fateful day while she and her two boys are out hitting garage sales. First her boys buy two garden gnomes. Innocent enough but things aren't always as they seem. She also meets hunky fireman Ty at a firehouse pancake breakfast that same day. Just so happens that he moved into the house two doors down from hers.

Animal husbandry, meth labs, forest fires, sexual tension, animal poop and bachelorette parties. Seems like it's feast or famine for Jane West when a couple of garden gnomes turn her quiet life in the plains of Montana on their ear.

This is Jennifer Zane's first book and I'm duly impressed. It seems like she's been doing this for a while. She describes scenes with their sights and sounds in great prose, giving the novel a great sense of place. She also knows her characters well.

There is even a handlebar mustache on the villain. It is the classic romance and rescue story and I think it was very well done. Enjoy it for what it is and don't expect "true life" actions.

This book isn't for the young, the prudes, or the faint at heart. The story is set in Montana country about a widow, a hot fireman, and a sick, sick rancher. The mother in law is hilarious with all her samples from her adult store.True love wins.Gnome On The Range

A great first novel (or tenth!). There is enough mystery to keep you intrigued, cute kids and a woman who doesn't always look her best.
Throw in a hunky new neighbor, an unusual job (sex toys and wild bachlorette parties), a past that has shaken your confidence, some wacky relatives and you have a laugh-out-loud romance. I highly recommend this!

What a fun book! An unlikely mixture of single (widowed) mother with two boys, a mid-century ranch-style house in the suburbs, a job in an "adult" store, a strange and wonderful mother-in-law, two sexy men, a smattering of BDSM, horses, cattle, and, of course, gnomes! Not to be missed. The writing, proofreading, and editing are all above the usual standard for ebooks, so no distractions with oddly spelled words, sentences missing an essential part of speech, or the usual fare. Plus lots of good belly laughs.
