Its suffice to say I finished the book in less than twenty-four hours.
The vulnerability Chant’l possesses and courage it must have taken to muster up to share such initimate details of her life and personal triumph? Talk about surprisingly refreshing and down right bold.
From the very first line of her book (“I never realized how beautiful it could be looking at your life from rock bottom”) to the very final words (“You get to create your happy ending. You just have to do it”), I was hooked.
I’ve honestly battled with two very real issues that are mentioned in the “rating your life” section of the book: 1) family and 2) financial security. With her techniques I’ve been able to make a commitment and sincere promise to myself that I will diligently focus on getting into ‘goal doing’ and escape my past of ‘goal dreaming.’
5 stars all the way.
"As I fell into a deep depression, I developed three go-to states. The first was sitting indian-style on top of the bathroom sink. I enjoyed watching myself cry in the mirror. I would look at my swollen eyes and tell myself that I would figure a way out."
The imagery literally made my LOL because I felt like I could almost see her comically inspecting the quiver of her lips, but it also helped me feel less guilty about my own shortcoming when it comes to hitting goals since we all have our low points. Finding a book with a relatable author is sometimes hard, but she makes it EASY!
My favorite section was on our "phantom goals", OMG THIS IS SO ME. I think I'm being productive or making progress, when instead I'm just procrastinating! Now that I know this is a thing, I feel much better about determining ways to change my behavior. Thanks so much for writing this great book, I can't wait to achieve my 2018 goals this year!
