I like novels with sports heroes but I just couldn't like this one very much. First there was just too much telling in the first few chapters. As a new reader of this author's work, I had no idea the Ukrainian hockey hero and heroine had a previous one night stand so the hero came across as an obnoxious bully as he tried to run away her dates. The heroine was a very educated team psychologist for the hockey team and the hero, by his own admission, had difficulty with learning.

Second,I didn't feel an emotional connection or sexual tension between either character even though we are told it's there. When the characters finally got together again (sexually), he had just discovered he had avascular necrosis and his hockey career was over. He then had a miraculously quick recovery from total hip surgery. The author might have consulted with someone knowledgeable about the disease and procedure. Usually, you cannot put any weight on an uncemented hip for 6 weeks. With a cemented or hybrid (one piece cemented and one piece uncemented) hip, you can usually put some weight on the leg, but you'll still need a walker, a cane, or crutches for up to 8 weeks. Although the average reader wouldn't notice this, it bothered me as a medical professional.

Third, the author inserts a new plot twist by having a young daughter the hero was unaware of from a previous relationship show up at his door with the family lawyer. The mother of the child had died and the story morphs into one of childhood depression, bullying and self mutilation by the child. In between all of these plot twists and sex scenes, love was supposed to develop but I never felt the emotion.

The only plot twist not thrown in was the hero's immigration status. The characters just never grabbed my interest. However, it could have been better if the author had stuck to one plot or if she had gotten some substantial content editing.

This is a great addition to this series, although it also involves a few issues with a bit more serious overtones to it than the first book.

Zoe and Vlad have had this serious attraction to one another for years, but since the league frowns on any players getting involved on hired staff members, they aren't free to act on that attraction. This book brought out a lot of raw emotions I didn't see coming, but I thought the author did a pretty good job of handling those issues. As a person who has had first hand knowledge of Vlad's career ending condition--- the medical facts were off quite a bit--- but then again; this is a work of fiction so I'm willing to let that pass.

And even though this book had a more serious overtone to it, I really, really enjoyed this book. I loved the little twists and turns thrown in at the end, and I loved watching the way these two handled the whole situation. The ending left me wanting more though. I want to know more about how things turned out for them in the end; just call me greedy. ;)

Having read the first book in this series I was so anxious to read Vlad and Zoe's story and I wasn't disappointed. Vlad and Zoe have something, they both know it's special. Vlad is determined to get the girl and Zoe is just as determined that this will never work out for either of them. The road to their happiness isn't easy, but nothing in life is.

I loved the plot twists in this book, the things that come along and test their feelings for each other. I really enjoyed the first book but I loved the second one even more. Vlad is one of my new BBFs. Awesome read!

I need to find me some Vlad like now... He knows what he wants and wouldn't stop till he got Zoe.. They were forbidden to date as they were bonded by contract of the team..

Vlad knew that Zoe was the only girl he needed for the rest of his life even when his world turned upside down when he finds out he needs to retire and shortly after he finds out he has a daughter..

You will love this series and this book..

Vlad is a determined goalie for the NHL’s San Diego Scorpions, not only is he determined to stop the puke's but also to get the woman he loves, Zoe. The problem there is she is the psychologist for the team and she can't mix the two no matter her feelings.

Vlad works hard to break Zoe's boundaries and eventually succeeds, but is it for the best? Many things happen to Vlad and Zoe but if you want to know you have to read the book. Take a chance like Zoe did.

Absolutely loved it! I thought the first book in the Scorpions was good, but this one for me was excellent. I wasn't sure with the way it started and then the Thanksgiving discovery pecked away at my heartstrings. I couldn't have asked for a better read and I impatiently wait for the next story!

I just don't know where to begin. I loved the first book in the series and really liked Zoe and Vlad in it, but the Zoe and Vlad that showed up in Goalie Interference are dreadful and far from likable. I had to stop reading because I'm so disgusted. I'm actually crushed because the hints we were given in the first book were so intriguing, but the author chose to start somewhere else, with characters that aren't likable because she has changed them so much. At this point I don't even care anymore if they never get their HEA because I don't care about them as characters anymore. I really wanted to give it 1 star, but I haven't finished so I'm giving 2 - maybe it works out for them, but I'm so put off by who the author has turned them into that I can't be bothered to waste any more time and find out. So sad. So much promise from book 1.
