Originally published in 2001 I discovered this book when listening to a YouTuber who happened to mention it as a book he read for personal growth and development.
GOD IS MY CEO- Following God’s Principles in a Bottom-Line World is a collection of anecdotal stories from successful business people on how their faith guided them.
The chapters are entitled: Purpose, Success, courage, Patience, Leadership by Example, Yielding Control, Servant Leadership, Love, Priorities, and Redemption. The last chapter is: Timeless Wisdom from Twenty Leaders.
What makes this book suitable for Bible study is not just the chapter titles but what is within each chapter. The reader will be presented with: an issue, a solution, a conversation/ a few testimonies, and a conclusion. In addition there is a Discussion Guide.
I appreciated this book and gave one to a business associated. I really believe that this book has a lot to teach even if you are not a Christian but especially if you are. In a time in which integrity seems to be optional it is good to know that integrity works.

This book is part of my personal reading library. The review is my honest unsolicited opinion.
I use it as one of the foundation blocks for my consulting business. Our local Business Owners & Business Leaders Organization here in the greater KC area is studying it now as a group. I highly recommend "GOD is my CEO" for all business owners and self-employed 1099s. Check it out!
I read the first edition and expected this version to have minor refinements or additions, but in fact there is significant new substantive content and I recommend this book highly, even to those who read the previous edition.
One of the strengths Larry Julian's many books is businesspeople who share their real world stories, the deep personal and professional problems they have faced and how God's principles have helped them overcome those challenges. The tone and philosophy of "God is My CEO" focuses on practical application in the real world, not theory or mere interpretation of biblical teachings.
Leading by faith isn't just about feeling good. Leading with God's principles doesn't mean you have to choose morality over money. This book make a strong case that ultimately the smartest bottom-line business strategy addresses our deepest human needs to integrate our spiritual life with our business life. And the book shares numerous examples of how this builds employee morale, increases productivity, and fosters customer loyalty.
In addition, the brand-new section Timeless Wisdom from Twenty Leaders provides insight and encouragement from top members of the business world, including Marc Belton of General Mills, Richard Stearns of World Vision U.S., and Ken Blanchard, author of The One Minute Manager.
