It is basically a love letter to her child but in the most heartbreaking form. She puts a ton of feeling and great writing into the sad parts of her tale and downplays what must have been good--she had a ton of boyfriends, friends and lived in cool cities. But I guess that was probably intentional, to underscore that what she gave up overshadows everything. Something women with and without children should take to heart when trying to think about all of the options there are in life. And as we saw in her book, sometimes you can have all this special knowledge about the most important thing in life and still have it elude you.
She is a very gifted writer and I hope she works on that talent and produces more.
