Each chapter starts with a scripture, then the devotion, then has suggested scripture reading, questions for journaling considerations (with lines for writing), a prayer, Today's Sweet Tea Moment, and a prayer focus. This book is a wonderful, easy to use devotional resource with a daily dose of spiritual encouragement and reflection that will help you draw closer to the heart of God.
Each devotion has a little story that goes along with the title. There are multiple verses to look up, which I really liked. Too many devotionals give maybe one verse and I just don't feel that that's enough. The author also included a journal question/questions. There is a prayer, Today's Sweet Tea Moment, and a prayer focus. The prayer wraps up the reading. The Today's Sweet Tea Moment is kind of a reminder that goes along with the reading. The prayer focus allows the reader to focus on something specific that day. Each devotion I read touched upon something I needed to hear and helped me to start my day off right!
I received a copy of this book in exchange for my honest opinion.
One example would be the lesson entitled "A Life of Service ". This spoke directly to my heart just as it did to the author's heart: "I remember
the time, some twenty or so years ago, when my little children revolved around me like the planets circle the sun. I felt like I was holding them all in place, but God was holding us all. He was ever present. One especially exhausting day, as I was changing a diaper and hurriedly juggling many tasks, I said aloud in exasperation, 'I don’t have a life!' Without hesitation, the Lord responded emphatically to my words. In my spirit, I heard: 'No, you don’t have a life. Didn’t I tell you that whoever will save his life shall lose it, and whoever will lose his life for My sake shall find it?' "
When my children were small I sometimes felt overwhelmed trying to keep up with them and the daily chores around the house. This was especially true when I had my first gallbladder attack. It was literally all I could do to get the children out of the house for school and to keep up with the laundry and dishes. (This has also been the case 40 years later as I waited for new knees and then dealt with the rehab once I got them.) With the gallbladder attack I would literally get the children off to school only to lie in bed or on the floor holding my side. I would then
get up long enough to throw a load of laundry in the washer so I could lie back down to hold my side until it was time to move the laundry to the dryer. Same thing for loading / unloading the dishwasher.
Since my husband never helped with the housework or spent much time playing with the children or helping them with their homework it all fell on me. I would become weary under the weight of it all. Unfortunately I did not have the same insight as the author had. Of course I had no life: I had died to myself, and the life I now lived was not me but rather Christ living in me.
There are other lessons that also touched my heart in a special way as I am sure there will be for you. However, I consider the entire book to be very refreshing because each lesson is like sitting down with God for a little chat and a glass of tea. What a bright spot in any day! Who couldn't use a little more time relaxing and visiting with the God of the universe and a lot less time worrying over the concerns of this world?
That is why I recommend this book to everyone. Like the author put it: take a break in your day to spend some time with God and a nice glass of sweet iced tea (or soda, a cup of coffee, or whatever else you enjoy most). Each lesson in short enough that the excuse "I don't have time to spend with God or read the Bible" won't work. Even companies gives employees a 15 minute break once or twice a day. So there are no
excuses: grab a copy of the book, sit down with your Bible in hand, and spend these precious few minutes with the Creator of the universe. He invites you to draw near to Him so quit stalling and making excuses. God doesn't want to hear our lame excuses: He wants to hear us
praising Him as our hearts rejoice in His word. After all it IS His love letter to us.
Reviewers note – the verses provided in the beginning are not from the same bible translation, and I think that is more for emphasis on certain things and that is okay. You can easily reference your bible of choice if that makes you feel more comfortable! And make sure to have your highlighters out – there are some great references listed and I think you will want them to stand out in your bible!
I found the topics very relevant and inviting. From reminders to stop complaining so much, to letting go of my worries, there is a variety of devotions that I am certain will speak right to your heart. If you are looking for a five minute devotion, then I do not think this is the book for you. To give it justice, and to show appreciation to the author for all the hard work and dedication that went into this book, I highly recommend taking about fifteen minutes minimum, although I feel 30 minutes would be more beneficial. And don’t just do it so you can turn the page. Reflect on God’s word and allow the message to speak to your heart!
I enjoyed this devotional and will be recommending it to friends and family. I hope you will do the same! I received a complimentary copy of this book from SLB Tours. I was not required to post a positive review. All opinions stated are 100% my own thoughts.

This wonderful book is filled with so many beautiful Bible verses and true to the title it's the author's experience in seeing God in everyday moments. Each chapter has a thought to think over written in a short and beautiful way starting with a bible verse and ending with further bible reading suggestion, prompt for journaling,a prayer, sweet tea moment and prayer focus. I loved the sweet tea moments and the prayers mentioned in every chapter.
Prayer is powerful be it to the Gods we believe in or to the universe we trust in.✨
