Exquisite. Must have for any gamer with boys
I have always loved kratos. I used to work at GameStop. I was in the local paper and interviewed about gaming. I talked about playing God of war and loved strategy and learning new tactics to solve a problem and the benefits of video games. my husband has not played the newest one but is always talking about it always calling our four sons boy. He also likes to play the video clips and read commentary on it.When I saw this book I added it to my wish list, waiting. I never do that for any book. Now that I have it in my hands it has been extremely worth the wait. I don't game these days with 6 kids so this book really is perfect. Humorous touching profound great animation this is truly a must-have in your collection.*** EDIT*** another reviewer says Kratos calls his son a dick. He's correcting his behavior telling him not to be a mean person. What I love most about this and the game series is watching Kratos grow up only desiring for his son to be a better man than he was. We need strong father figures, especially now. Kratos is voiced by a strong black man. Not relevant to his character but in today's climate. We truly need to hold one another accountable and love everyone as well. This book addresses these issues

Great collector’s item. I bought it with my son in mind when he was born, but similar to other reviews, there’s definitely content not appropriate for young kiddos. It now sits by my collector’s edition statue from GoW 2018 and I am sure my boys will appreciate this book as much as I do when they grow up and get older.

My son got a kick out of it since he’s watched me play the game so much he liked that the book was illustrated in a way that appeals to his age range.

So this book is excellent and cute. However, there are some sections that parents need to review the language before reading outloud to some littles because I don’t think that type of language should be used for a children’s book. I made that mistake and then stopped myself quickly and had to quickly recover what I had said and why it was bad. Then, I had to skim through the pages to make sure there weren’t any other mishaps. Which, there was so I advise parents to read this first before reading to the kids! Then, just change those specific words for something else!
Otherwise, great idea for a book!

Great buy for video game loving parents who aren't gonna mind reading this over and over again but just know that its also a tad on the adult side also. It shows an eye ball hanging off kratos leviathan axe in one of the illustrations and in one section refers to him to not act like a dick but other then that nothing too bad lol. It follows the story of the most recent God of War game and the journey

I love the new God of War (2018) game! I've been getting deep into its lore and it's even peaked my interest into vikings and Norse mythology. Funny thing is it even made me look for any children books from Norway or Iceland to satisfy my desire for more God of War. It was to my surprise that a children's picture book of God of War even existed! Santa Monica Studios really know what there fans want! Thank you Santa Monica Studios and Dark Horse Comics!

As a dad of a young toddler and a fan of the God of War series, I was intrigued as to how Kratos could have possibly been made kid-friendly. The answer is he is not. Rather than being an actual children's book, this book is a satirical take on Kratos' parenting lessons to Atreus. There is copious blood present and references to death throughout. The book follows the story fairly well, so much so that I would say that it will spoil the game for you if you haven't played it yet. So, I enjoy this book, but it sits alongside my punisher comics and other things of the sort, out of my boy's reach.

This is now one of my favorite books I own. I absolutely love it. The art is phenomenal, and my photos don't do it justice! There's of course some light spoilers if you haven't beaten the game (which, if you haven't, get on that right away), but the rhymes are funny and endearing, much like the tone of the story. I definitely recommend picking this one up as part of your GoW collection.

Quirky Narrative and Phenomenal Illustrations
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on October 6, 2020
I pre-ordered this book ages ago after seeing a tweet by David Bowie’s son who said it was a ‘beautiful thing’. My book has finally arrived and it is indeed...a beautiful thing. Good, quality, quirky narrative and phenomenal, engaging illustrations by Ms.Tempest - an absolute must for any GoW fan. Not sure why some reviewers have said it’s not suitable for small children though?? It’s quite clearly a satirical narrative meant for much older children/teens/adults - pretty sure the Peppa Pig brigade are not the target audience!!! More like this please Sony...would be nice to have a collection...
