Hello!

This is one of the best guitars I've ever played! For those who are unsure, it's pronounced GO DAN. Like Chopin. Onto the features...

Maple Neck
Maple Centre
Poplar Wings
Flamed Maple Top
Godin Tuners in 3x3 configuration
Godin Fixed Bridge with Graphite Saddles
Godin Humbuckers
Volume; Tone
3-Way Pickup Selector
24 Frets

Excellent craftsmanship with exceptional attention to detail; I would've gladly paid over $1000 for this guitar, and I still can't believe I got it for under $500! Out of personal preference, I changed the 3-way pickup selector to a 5-way for coil tapping, and replaced the stock humbuckers with DiMarzio's. Again, just personal preference, this guitar came ready to rock straight from the factory. The neck is one of the thinnest and fastest necks I've ever played on; it's shorter (24 3/4") and narrower than an Ibanez RG, so you expend less energy moving from string to string. It's light and lovely - imagine if an Ibanez RG played better and sounded like a brighter Les Paul (mahogany vs poplar).

Yeah.

I'll be getting a second one. Why? Do I need a reason? Didn't think so. But it'll be a "back up" for the guitar that doesn't need one.

I'm in a metal band, and this guitar has been turning heads at shows and making history on recordings. I have people asking me after shows how I get my tone. And I think my girlfriend ended up leaving me, cos I'm too busy playing this guitar, but honestly, I don't remember if I ever even had a girlfriend. Who cares, I have a Godin Redline HB with another one on the way!

Oh, and the guitar came with this amazing gig bag, that's worth a good $50 alone. I have an ATA flight case for the guitar for obvious reasons, but man, I wish I could use the gig bag more often. It's really nice. I actually ended up sending Godin a love letter.

Cheers!

DUCK

I never heard of Godin before stumbling upon them here, and I am so glad I took a chance, count me as a new fan.

I'm blown away by how amazing this guitar is, I just can't believe it's this good for so little money.

I have several other guitars, two G&L's, an Inbanez, and a Schecter. All of them cost a bit more than this Godin Redline, and my Schecter costs over twice as much. Hands down this guitar is better than all of them. My other guitars have their fine points and negatives, but this amazing instrument is perfect.

I just got it yesterday and have played for nearly 6 hours, I can't put it down, it's so comfortable. The action is nearly perfect, there's no fret buzz anywhere, the intonation is actually dead on (it's impressive, I didn't have to adjust at all), it has stayed in tune, the tuners are smooth and were securely fastened, the finish was flawless, the neck joint is flush and tight, the frets were shiny and well finished, neck is perfectly smooth, pickup height is correct and they sound great... Everything is perfect, from the factory, wow! I feel like I hit the guitar jackpot after all of the junk guitars I've tried in stores, and the frustrating problems I've had with my own (Schecter is garbage, $1,000 guitar with low E buzz on every fret, A string buzz on middle frets, horrible intonation, poor action setup... only nice thing I can say is the neck profile and satin finish is the best I've ever felt. G&L is a very good value, great looking and finish, solid build, but a lot of tweaking on the setup/intonation, neck profile is a bit larger/rounder and doesn't feel as nice as Schecter Thin C or this Godin. Ibanez is good, but I do not like the U shape Wizard neck.)

Pros:
Great configuration.

Outstanding guitar, plays great. The thin neck was a little to get used to but man it's nice. The body is a little smaller but it just feels perfect.I think the pups are fine but to each his own if you want to change them it's an option of course.

I bought this guitar after reading a lot of great reviews on several different sites. I opted to purchase on Amazon as this guitar was 15% off during the holidays so I felt like I was getting a great deal. I've never owned a Godin electric before, but have played several in their acoustic lineup under "Seagull" guitars.

This guitar is very solid. Its a bit on the heavy side, but that's to be expected with a maple body. The neck is super fast, great for rhythm and blistering leads. I was planning on upgrading the pickups at some point or another, but I have been playing this guitar out for the past couple of months and I honestly don't see the need; they sound phenomenal. I had several other HH guitars, but after buying this one I ended up selling most of them (except for my ESP EC series, I love that guitar too). All in all, I highly recommend this guitar from one musician to another. Just do yourself a favor and buy one.
