Adam Archer, once mars-explorer.. now Earths protector, has a difficult job to say the least. Aside from saving the planet from the dangers of the cosmos, he has to deal with humanity's mistrust, deceit and well.. uncoolness. Also, his sisters and an alien space-dog join in the fun. The villains are ridiculously awesome.
This volume elaborates on many over-arching concerns, and is chock-full of hilarious space-opera antics. Archer grows dangerously closer to learning his destiny, the cosmos conspire to invade Earth, and Basil is still trapped inside the body of a woman.
In Godland, everything is BIG!! Big heroes. Big villains. Big universe. BIG, BIG. BIG. The Celestial Editions seem as if that very concept is what brought them into existence. As a total comic-hoarder, I can't help but drool every time I pick this book up. There's no dust-jacket, the art is printed right on the very sturdy cover. It looks fantastic, and pretty artsy. The pages are thick & glossy, and of course the whole thing is over-sized. Collecting issues 13-24, this thing is a total steal for the cover price.
This is such a great series. It's a balls to the wall cosmic blast.
The first Celestial Edition is out of print, and worth a pretty penny if you can find it. I suggest investing in this thing, before you can't afford it.
