To my surprise it is a well organized collection of researched citations, references and footnotes that leads the reader on an insightful & thought provoking journey. I've read some of the other books he's cited and this book isn't regurgitated information. Interesting read.

I really enjoyed Gods of Eden by William Bramley and was impressed by its ambitious scope and detail. While each chapter was most informative, each could also inspire a lifetime of additional research so Bramley's hard question was how much depth was needed in order to support some reasonable conclusions about the impact of ETs on earthly events over time.

Bramley sees that for centuries, ETs have been influencing the earth's people through the proxy of secret societies, financial powers and intelligence agencies. As proof, he cites how wars and lesser conflicts are ET-initiated so the governed stay too distracted to mount any revolt against ET control.

He suggests that these never ending conflicts derive from a grand ET plan to keep the earth's people subjugated (as drone workers). He may be right about such a grand plan dictate but there are few examples (none) where grand plans hang together for centuries. Most grand plans self-destruct or become obsolete within a few years and since ETs have been visiting earth for thousands of years, I doubt they are following a grand plan.

When any group of people assembles for some common interest like the local PTA, the church charity, the senior class prom planning committee, the "friendly" business golf tournament or chess club, conflicts soon devolve into two or more camps. Unrest is inevitable and, alas, it is more interesting than compliant alignment. When more powerful groups assemble (royalty, politicians, industrialists, church and financial powers) they clash earlier and more dramatically.

On Madagascar, there are troops of monkeys that collect at their territorial boundaries every afternoon and scream at each other for an hour or so; then they fade back into their own areas and rest.

The urge to invent conflict is compelling across every animal entity so incessant conflict alone does not mean that there must be one grand plan or that some one conductor is wielding a confrontational baton. Even semi reasoning minds easily find issues of conflict all by themselves.

Many of the examples in GOE cite some provocateur or agency hyping unrest first on one side and then the other. Indeed, that does hint at a grand plan. But that ignores that many ambitious people will change colors mid-battle just to insure they end up on the prevailing side or otherwise benefit from the conflict. This self-serving trait, a form of greed, lives in all animal life.

We who believe that ETs have been active participants in the lives of us earthlings for centuries are the products of overwhelming evidence. It's reasonable to assume there are at least a dozen different groups of visiting ETs. But the fact that they have advanced technology doesn't mean they are free from greed.

We earthlings have also recently experienced a dramatic growth in advanced technology yet we still remain quite greedy. So it's more reasonable to assume that the visiting ET groups still have differing (greed) agendas that spawn conflict spontaneously. There's no need for a grand plan.

For me, the imperfect behavior of people, tribes, nations and even ETs is the result of innate greed. On earth, the group most able to cause greed-driven conflict is the banking community. It is they who have the motive and influence to translate native greed into major conflict (war) since war feeds their interest much faster than peace.

The other natural tendency humans have is their need to group with others. Children at play in the woods create a fort or camp, pretend it is a secret place and invent a password system. They group-up and get exclusive even at age eight or ten. Boys rarely grow into mature men. Watch any NFL game and see 50 year old men high-fiving when their team scores. Many are in the uniform jersey of their favorite player.

It's not difficult for an alpha leader type to convert these group-up tendencies into an organized agenda in an us-against-them effort. So the unifying forces of greed and group-up are more to blame for our world's condition than the clever execution of a grand plan by ETs.

The full disclosure and acceptance of UFO/ET existence can't be far away given the dramatically increased communication factor of the internet, the ubiquitous use of cell phone cameras and the evaporating nationalistic identities. Soon China or Brazil or the Vatican will take the initiative to acknowledge ETs. Congress will then quickly pass an immunity bill to forgive all the liars and black op participants for their deceptive obfuscations. There will be some panic and adjustment but our recent breakthrough technology has softened everyone's resistance to a sea change paradigm. "As long as I have a job and some food, who cares if there's an ET office on the next block?"

Next it will be fashionable to buy into the ET Thing while the churches circle their wagons and, as before, invent compliant reasoning to re-map their dogmas to the new thing. Then it will be business as usual; meaning the bankers will continue to steer their ships by the starlight of greed. Gangs of thugs and financiers will still use secret signs and ceremonies. Politicians will adapt or be replaced.

And the monkeys of Madagascar will argue every day as they have for centuries.

None of these groups need a grand plan.

Why is Earth racked with Violence?

William Bramley's tome, Gods of Eden, is an excellent examination of our world, its hidden history, and the causes of today's tragic circumstance.

Originally released in 1989, Gods of Eden is a critical look back at our history. It starts in in ancient times and gradually moves forward, giving us information and analysis that we never would have expected. Bramley examines ancient texts, reviewing the UFO phenomenon as it presented itself in pre-history. He interprets writings in a much more literal fashion then most historians and fails to excuse their words as metaphor, nonsense or hysterical babble. For example, he quotes the bible in several parts, and demonstrates that the appearance of 'God' in several passages is marked by thundering, smoke, or strange aerial phenomenon:

...there were thunders and lightenings, and a thick cloud upon the mount, and the sound of the trumphet was exceedingly loud; and all the people that were in the camp trembled.

And Moses brought the people out of the camp to meet with God; and they stood at the lower part of the mountain.

And Mount Sinai was altogether covered with smoke, because the Lord descended upon it in fire: and the smoke from the fire billowed upwards like the smoke of a furnace, and the whole mountain quaked greatly. - Genesis 19:16-19

If an ancient Hebrew were to observe the rumbling, smoke and flame of a modern rocketship, the description would not have been much different than this Biblical narrative of Jehovah. A later visit by Jehovah contained the same phenomena:

And all the people saw the thunderings, and the lightenings, and the noise of the trumpet, and the mountain smoking: and when the people saw it, they moved away and stood far off. Genesis 20:18

Lest it be assumed that these descriptions might be of a volcano, further sightings reveal that Jehovah was a moving object:

And the Lord travelled before them [the Hebrew tribes] by day in a pillar of cloud, to lead them the way; by night in a pillar of fire, to give them light; to go by day and night:

He took not away the pillar of the cloud by day, or the pillar of fire by night, from in front of the people. Exodus 13:21-22

Thus Bramley argues it was a custodial race (extra-terrestrials, higher life forms, or perhaps humans with advanced technology left over from prior great civilizations) that formed the basis of the ancient Hebrew religion. He gives bits from the Sumerians as well as ancient Mayans and Aztecs which demonstrate similar phenomenon took place and again, the instigators labeled themselves gods.

We're shown how they perverted Christs teachings merely a few centuries after his death, and how they were perverted to give us such dark tidings as the Crusades and the Inquisition. Islam was also manufactured by these same Custodians, and thus the three major religions of our world likely not come from God, but from a ruling class that maintains its power by keep us ignorant, servile and ensnared in constant war.

He also gives us vivid descriptions how these custodial rulers fostered and controlled different secret societies, and in a very Machiavellian fashion, pitted them against one another in various wars and conflicts in order to keep humanity embroiled in violence.

We're also shown how eschatology, or the concept of an apocalypse was given to us by the same custodial sources. The modern financial system, the concept of paper money, also came out of the very same houses that were profiting from war. Without paper money, debt and the modern banking system it was very difficult to keep a war running, and thus the custodians manufactured an artificial system of economics that allowed unlimited spending as long as it was violence and destruction being sown, not peace nor prosperity.

Moving forward through time he demonstrates again, and again their connection to revolution and any new philosophy that gains a foothold in our global culture: Protestantism, Calvinism, Marxism and Fascism. Even the American and French revolutions, as well as the Bolshevik revolution in Russia were are produced specifically to create sides that would be pitted against each other in violent conflict!

We're also given an examination of what true human spirituality can look like in its unfettered form, and how humans (when not manipulated or controlled) inherently seek amicable and peaceful relations with their fellow man.

Overall the book is incredible, it contains facts and research I haven't seen anywhere else except for a few other incredible books. Namely, Secret History of the World (Jadczyk-Knight), The High Strangeness (Jadczyk-Knight), and UFOs & The National Security State (Dolan).

Were given a clear look at our history, with facts and information you don't get in high school or college, and a hypothesis that is mind-blowing as well as critical if we are to understand the current plight of humanity. If you're looking for answers to how and why our society is the way it is you definitely want to check out this book.

William Bramley makes it clear early on that he's about to drive you to places you never thought you'd go, and that's certainly true. The key E T material is marshalled into the first four chapters before he plunges into a search through religious and esoteric history in seeking to support the view that we're the sport of aliens and the 'hot rods of the gods' have been with us all along. There's a great deal to unpack about his assertions, so let me dive in and give a few observations... Chapter 2: 1.There's assumption that our 'goldilocks zone' is prevalent elsewhere - that's yet to be shown in any irrefutable fashion. 2. War is looked upon as something we could avoid, but this avoids asking the question why does it so plague us? 3.The 'spiritual' is defined as something detached from the material - why? Why should we just accept dualism as the 'norm'? Chapter 3: The key UFO material is presented without almost no reference to the work of men like Alan Hyneck, Jacques Vallee, John Mack and the like, because, I suspect, they clearly affirmed a paranormal/extra dimensional character to much of the credible phenomena when not dealing with the 'hard' technology (see W A Harbinson's "Projekt Saucer"). Such an approach would give a far more disturbing and malevolent side to the nature of this intrusive side of the numerous occurrences, and again, point to something beyond the merely material encroaching within the commonplace, breaking any division between the 'other' and our reality. This then omits a proper exchange on the actual material gathered in the modern age. Chapter 4 continues to make the same assumptions, so even more straightforward answers about many events (Andrew Collins' "The Ashes of Angels") cannot be considered. There is also a total omission of vital new data concerning the movement and deeds of various ancient peoples, such as the Hyksos (see Dr David Rohl's "The Lords of Avaris"). And so it goes on, making several assertions concerning what IS about all manner of religious and historical events on the assumption that many common evaluations or definitions are entirely at fault, so you have to leave all of these behind. I suppose what doubled me most about this work was its genuine failure to just take actual human nature seriously. To quote from Stephen King's The Stand, "There’s precious little reform in the human race … Shall I tell you what sociology teaches us about the human race? I’ll give it to you in a nutshell. Show me a man or woman alone and I’ll show you a saint. Give me two and they’ll fall in love. Give me three and they’ll invent the charming thing we call ‘society.’ Give me four and they’ll build a pyramid. Give me five and they’ll make one an outcast. Give me six and they’ll reinvent prejudice. Give me seven and in seven years they’ll reinvent warfare. Man may have been made in the image of God, but human society was made in the image of His opposite number, and is always trying to get back home".

Some interesting research and theories. While some of it makes sense there are missing bits that would better complete the story. there is a battle between good and evil, that started before this planet was created. While I do believe aliens have and are visiting us, there are both good and bad ones, most being benevolent.
I must say I was a little disappointed and was expecting more from this book. however, it was written a while back and probably the author is working on part 2.
