The world of The Gods We Make
is based on real-life trends in politics, culture, and technology (and the alien artifact obeys the known laws of physics). Within the pages, you'll discover a fast-paced adventure in a world that could really exist in a few decades.
The book's primary mission is to entertain. I hope it also gives the reader pause to reflect on how decisions - or indecision - today might radically alter the near-future. At no time in our history has the world changed at the pace it does today, and that pace is accelerating.
Enjoy the book!
About the Author
Eric Johannsen has been a storyteller since he was introduced to role-playing games at the age of twelve. He has been the game master for decades of science fiction and fantasy role-playing game campaigns.
Eric earned a Bachelor of Science in Physics from the University of California San Diego, where he developed a deep appreciation of how the universe works and a burning curiosity to understand what physics can't (yet) explain. He holds a commercial pilot's license, lived abroad in Europe for over a decade, and is an education volunteer at the Aquarium of the Pacific. His day job is software development, and he writes by night with a passion.
Eric lives in California, where he raises triplets with his wife Rose.
