Plot/Story: Japan is being ravaged by bizarre and powerful giant monsters.
A reptilian creature called Baragon is creating earthquakes in an oil refinery, a high-speed pterosaur named Rodan is leaving sonic booms in his wake, a hideous blob of slime called Hedorah is feeding off of the city's toxic waste and growing larger every second, a giant caterpillar named Mothra is laying eggs in different parts of town, a giant octopus is destroying fishing ships in the harbor and devouring their crews, a terrible three-headed hydra named King Ghidorah is bringing fire to the skies, and Godzilla is plowing through everything around him. To make matters worse, a fleet of alien saucers has begun an invasion.
Only the Japan Self-Defense Forces can stop them.
Gameplay: The player controls military forces trying to prevent Godzilla and other giant monsters from destroying cities. Mothra, Gezora, Hedorah, and Baragon along with King Ghidorah are added to the lineup, and are joined by Rodan. This game, released in place of an earlier announced game meant to star Rodan, was received poorly by audiences, due in part to a lack of a genuine plot, and due to the game having an extremely arbitrary style of combat, which was difficult for many players to understand. It was the third Godzilla game for a Nintendo system to be released in North America, after Godzilla: Monster of Monsters for the Nintendo Entertainment System and Godzilla for Nintendo Game Boy.
Story 4/5 Gameplay 3/5 Music 4/5 Overall 6.5/10 = C
This game has its problems but nothing like the game before it.

GODZILLA 2 is a TACTICAL strategy game for the NES. Its one of the later NES games and really shows with its strong AI and deep game play. Godzilla 2 is best for teens to adults as the complexity and game play are best suited for mature minds. The game play is turn-based strategy with a lot of involved game play. If you like strategy games, you will love G2. G2 offers all Tokyo's famous monsters in a ton of campaigns. Scientists can make suggestions on how to defeat the monsters. Other Monsters, in a surprize move may even choose to help you. G2 really exceeds expectation.
