Already told Amazon about the lower price. Everyone else should do the same.

What weirdo keeps voting posts like ours down? They don't like low prices?

I would think they want to be competitive, but maybe not.

I was going to go for $34.99, but I think that target will get my order. Sorry amazon, target also has bonus content.

Target is sneaky with the bonus content. Its almost nothing but in a case like this it turns the tide completely. You save a few dollars and get it day one. All of you are a bunch of Turncloaks, doing this to Amazon.com. I'm joining you though, so who am I to talk?

I can't believe I was just called a turn-coat. It's not my fault they established a system of price-matching, which is of course one of the main areas of appeal to this site. They usually have the lowest prices.

How do you know this? Target.com posts a price of $39.99

Check out Target's weekly ad. It's in there. The Blu-ray/DVD combo set for $29.99 and the DVD set for $24.99.

The new add is up now. You can see some of the adds before they are released, you just have to know where and what to look for. Buy yes, they are $29.99 for the 2/17 - 23 add.

I just saw the Target Ad ... I hadn't preordered, but jumped on here to see if Amazon was going to match the price. If they do, I'll buy from Amazon, if they don't, I'll be making a trip to Target on Tues :)

Amazon literally lower the price to match Target about 5 hours ago. That's hardly "awhile". ;-)

M. Ginsburg says:
My pre-order was shipped due for delivery today. The day it was shipped Amazon dropped the price to $29.99 but they're still charging me $34.99. They want me to pay $2.98 to send it back and I'm a Prime member. What lousy customer service.

Any others have the same experience?

Update: I contacted customer service directly (well via chat) and they refunded the difference immediately.

In reply to an earlier post on Feb 18, 2013, 7:10:13 AM PST
Nope. I texted my friend three days ago telling her that they dropped the price to 29.99 and I'm sure they did it before that. I have the text still on my phone.

@M. Ginsburg

Amazon always sends me refunds - even if it's days later - for things which prices have dropped. They've done it for every new release I've pre-ordered even.

Amazon has a Pre-Order Price Guarantee through the release day. You would have been refunded the difference of $5.00 within 48 hours after the release date which means you would see it by Friday at the latest. Sometimes they do make a mistake and a simple contact of Amazon will also get the refund. 13 years with Amazon and they have never failed me with the Pre-Order Price Guarantee.
