If you’ve read the other books in this series, like me, then you are already familiar with Julian’s mistakes and Kendall’s mental challenges. But it was the things that were revealed by Julian and Kendall themselves that provided a bit more context and created some understanding. Both Julian and Kendall were complex characters but it was pretty clear that they had both changed for the better and belonged together. The biggest evidence of Julian’s change was the way that he cared for Alex, a young girl in a desperate situation, and the lengths he went to protect her. For Kendall it was the way that she trusted herself to make her own decisions regardless of the challenges and her own past mistakes.
Ultimately, this story of hope and redemption was also about fighting for love despite the obstacles, which might seem monumental.
I am really sad that this series is over because the whole series has been fantastic!!
Julian was an addict & a jerk. He used Kendall to get at her brother in law not knowing she was unstable. He hurt her in his selfish push to get revenge on his old friends. Now, he can't move on without making amends. Will he make things worse or will she still love him?
This is book 4 in the series but can be read as a stand alone. Both Julian & Kendall are tormented about past mistakes & hurting those they love. Kendall's sister & husband have trouble trusting either of them . Carly Phillips has developed two flawed characters & managed to get the reader to sympathize with them & their actions. As the reader you get to follow along on their journey to each other & see if they gain acceptance from those close to them or slide back into their problems.
Julian Dane is battling addiction and huge mistakes he made and the one mistake he regrets the most is hurting Kendall Parker in his quest for a part of Blink. (the empire his lost friends built without him) Kendall is finally getting her life together on the right balance of medication and therapy. It has been a life long battle but she is finally just about ready to stand on her own two feet then he comes back the one man that made her realize she needed help by breaking her. Such a believably real life HEA and genuine supportive charters. Loved this story and this series!
I loved seeing how much Julian had changed. He truly had a huge heart and lived with great determination. He needed to have Kendall back in house life, but want sure how that works work. He needed faith to make that happen.
This story was truly great and I'm very happy CP wrote this book. It's an amazing read.
Then the heartache of when family is not behind you in the way you wish and hope for. This was a rollercoaster ride. Butbin the end love wins.
I Loved how you can see real life events in this series. So many people deal with mental health issues and you may never know. I am glad that Kendall has over come hers and made life changing decisions that could and did make her life so much better. And that all involved supported her in the end.
