Decades ago I used to wear gold-toe socks as a base layer under my everyday business thicker padded socks. I have feet problems--so have worn two pair of socks every day for over 30 years. I somehow lost contact with gold-toe dress socks--these socks--but saw them, bought one pack of three and I am now again the most dedicated consumer of this brand, this fabric, this sock! They fit and they are comfortable and NOT tight on calves, but stay up all day. Most comfortable. I use a base layer under heavier socks and they never fall down, they are not too tight on calves, you know, leaving a compression mark in the evening when you take them off. They are not compression socks. They are thin business wear / suit wear type socks that are perfect for my base layer needs. If you wear one pair of socks that are thing business/suit type of socks, then these will also work for you. I wear a 12-13 size shoe and these fit me perfectly from toe to fitted heal...may also fit other sizes, but I can only report on my foot/sock fit. These fit. I will buy multiple more packages and replace all my base layer socks with these, even my technical wicking socks...these are better.

Thin, Thin, Thin

I've been a fan of Gold Toe socks for some time, but was disappointed in this particular iteration. They are THIN. If you're wearing these with comfortable, well-padded shoes to sit behind a desk all day, they may be great as they are soft and the toe does indeed feel seamless. However, if you intend to be on your feet or walking for any length at all, you should seek out a different sock. The socks slip down and bunch up after only a few minutes of walking. Also, with my prominent heel, these socks have worn out far too quickly for my liking. In summation, I would suggest looking elsewhere for your dress sock needs.

One size fits all, my foot!

Gold Toe used to make an intermediate size, but now they make a single one size fits all for adults. My feet are U.S. shoe size 7.5, and these are supposed to fit down to shoe size 6. That claim is a big smelly load of you know what. These socks bunch up terribly in the heel for me and the toes are loose and wrinkle up in the ends of my shoes. Also, they are much thinner than I expected (compared to Gold Toe socks I've bought in the past). I couldn't stand them, so I gave them away. I will never buy Gold Toe again (unless they start making the intermediate size again).

Awful! They ride down my shin, wrinkle up, and collect lint

I've owned these socks quite a while now, so I can't return them, but they're awful. After walking around a short while they tend to drop from mid-calf to mid-ankle, wrinkled up down there.

They collect lint very easily, and it's hard to get the lint off the socks. I'd have to pick each piece of lint off of each sock individually. I've never seen socks that do this. They're like lint magnets.

For a moment, when initially put on, they look good, and it's all downhill from there.

SOCKS: Much too thin and so big that they twist around the toes, feet and ankles during hours of wearing. More pronounced twisting and bunching up if you walk around your house without shoes. I’ve bought Gold Toe for many years and these are horrible. Don’t ever buy their Metropolitan style.

In Jan 2021 I bought NINE bundles of socks: 4 Black bundles (12 pairs), 3 Brown (9 pairs) and 2 Blue (6 pairs). That’s 27 pairs total.

I called Amazon and they graciously agreed to refund all 27 pairs even though I wore them occasionally over ten months. Kudos to Amazon. I’m happy with Amazon because, ten months after purchase, they agreed to give me almost all my money back - minus a “restocking” fee (no pun intended).

The Only Dress Sock My Husband Will Wear

My husband is picky about his clothing, and Gold Toe is the only brand of dress socks that he will wear. He tends also to get hot quickly, so I thought these thinner, nylon versions would work well for him. I was right. He doesn't complain about them falling down. He does have thin calves, though, and that might be a factor. As with all of his Gold Toe socks, he expects them to last for a long time, much longer than the other brands he has been forced to try over the years.

Gold Toes - A Family Tradition Worth Bringing Back

That was a long time ago and now that I’m a grandmother I recalled how popular they were then and wanted to reinstitute an old family tradition. In today’s world of athletic, novelty and varieties of men’s socks styles, there remains a need for basic, standard, solid, quality, comfortable, reliable gold toes. I’m going to make sure all the boys and men in my family have that need covered!

'Wide' enough to slide well over extra-long ankle bone diagonal, (top 'Talus' to bottom 'Calcaneus')

12-16 size, brn, almost blk socks. Seems very good on 1st. try; know more later. The Nylon thinness allows my use of medium-width good shoes, wish shoe made in 'wide-width'. My aging feet sometimes have more problems than earlier - including my uneven weight distribution on foot's bottom. If wearing thick soles or thick cotton socks (normally my favorite), my uneven weight crunches certain areas of the sole & thick socks, causing a slight foot tilting toward the crunch. And hurting tendons, etc. in foot, leg, hip, and back. Thin soles stop or reduce that problem & harm. Nylon lasts longer than cotton. This "Metropolitan" sock slides well over my extra-long diagonal: top 'Talus' to bottom 'Calcaneus'. If too long (over 'calf'), works easily and well to cut inches off open end of socks.
