I bought this board book for my 1 year old as an Easter book and she likes looking at the bunny and duck in the story. To my surprise, my 1st grader really took to the book because it has lots of sight words in it that she can read. She read it aloud independently with very little help, so it's a good book for beginning readers.
The story is cute about a bunny who finds an egg and tries everything he can think of to find out what's in the egg. He falls asleep and while he's sleeping, the duckling came out and tries to wake up the bunny in the same ways the bunny tried to open the egg. In the end, they both became friends and were never alone again. Cute message and beautiful drawings. I love how colorful the pictures are and in the center of each page is an egg shape with the words and illustrations in them, bordered by beautiful flowers on each page. Certainly a great Easter book or a book for all through the year.
