These are NOT canning jars. Canning jars have a double lid. Those will not leak. These are one piece lids - and in the description it says they are for use as and arts and craft jar, storage jar, or a "drinking" jar. Yes, it says "preserve", but it does not say canning. It means just that, it will preserve whatever you put in it--as any jar would.

I personally did not find that they leak. I filled them with water and turned them upside down and they did not leak. However, it is not a two piece lid and so therefore I wouldn't trust it 100% - this is common sense. I buy those plastic lids, the white ones, that fit large mouth mason jars, but they do not have a rubber gasket as a separate piece and so would I turn that jar on its side when using those lids......no.

That said, I love these jars. I use them to make single sized portions of yogurt in. They are thicker than mason jars and I like the lids. This kind of lid does not rust here in the desert so I cannot vouch for whether it will somewhere in the midwest.

I will buy these again. Each jar was very well packed in individual packing material and arrived safely. It meets the requirements of the description of the product and I am pleased with them.

I think that the Golden Spoon people have been thoughtful in the making of these jars and I appreciate anyone who makes an attempt, especially in this day and age, to create a well made product. Did they have to include a lid for a straw...no....I think that shows a little forethought and I send a Kudos their way.

I picked these up to store oxygen absorbing packs, as they need to be stored in an airtight container. The jars are smaller than I expected - about a third the size of a mason jar - I assumed they were half the size. Plus the lids are THIN. My finger-nail can dent them. On top of that the seals are just a thin coating inside the lid. More like something you'll find on a disposable jar than one that's designed to be reused.

I initially bought these for overnight oats. They are just what I wanted, and the perfect size! I add in my ingredients, put on the non-hole cover, shake, shake, shake, and next morning it is ready to go, but still has room for the fruit I want to add.

I love the size - fits nice in my hand; not too big, not too small, and rounded.

I find I am also using them often for drinks. I prefer drinks with straws, and this is perfect when I do not want a lot. The cover with the straw hole has a thick rubber ring around the hole so the straw is nice and snug.

They are also very useful for storing small amounts of food (I do not throw anything away :) and for prep work.

The glass as thick as my "regular" mason jars, but I like that the covers are one piece. I am not looking to preserve in these so the one piece is better for me. I believe in *form* as well as function - these have great form! I love their look. They have "Golden Spoon" molded on one side, and on the other side a artistic chef image is molded in. And I already stated how I love the rounded design.

I really need to to get more of these!

Amazon savingsplace reached out to me asking if I had any problem and if So to write to them before I wrote a review. I was glad with their customer service for reaching out. But unfortunately, after receiving an automated reply that they will address my concern, they never got back to me at all. Only today closer to 10 days since I wrote, I get a message to write them a feedback. Seriously!!?? I thought I did and you asked to wait for your reply. Guess you were eager to get me writing here. Anyway here is my unbiased review despite the improper handling and unresolved concern.

Review: After reading all the reviews I wasn’t sure if the package will make it home in one piece. But thankfully, I received the package without any broken bottles. The bottles are great and well made. I am much satisfied, except for one. I do have a complain about one bottle, which has a mouldly stain inside. I tried cleaning it but doesn’t seem to go. Also soaked in soapy and vinegar water for a few days, but no help. I would absolutely not use this one as it is unsafe and hence my set of six bottles on the pantry rack is incomplete. It is unfair I paid for six but able to use only five.
See the picture I have attached ( put a white paper underneath so you can see better).
I had planned on buying more from them, but I guess I will not as you don’t get what you pay for and also receive no response from them if you have a problem.

What I liked: 1. seems like Saturday glass jars!
2. Came with two lids (one for storing fresh made juices air tight) and another with holes for a straw!
What I DISLIKE:
1. The holes in the top for a straw are supported with small rubber linings (gasket) that immediately came apart on my husband first go at this way of drinking (it’s for his lunch at work). It didn’t happen on any of the other jars so am assuming it’s a malfunction in this gasket. I have a photo if they’ll let me post it.
2. Might have included straws for us since it requires them to use. Thinking glass straws might come in sizes even....in which case some advise for what straws should be purchased, what size, etc might have prevented the first lid from breaking (the gasket, not the lid).
3. If it use the lid with a hole but no gasket, is it safe for food? Food grade? What’s the lid made out of?
