I ordered the ORIGINAL Golderod in this listing with a lifetime warranty and got the new Chinese one with a one year warranty. I'mnsending it back to Amazon for replacement.

Goldenrod (TM) USA was bought out by Battenfeld China. What's the difference?
Godenrod (TM): lifetime warranty
Battenfeld: cheaper made and only a one year warranty

The Goldenrod (TM) heats to 150F, Battenfeld heats to 120F

Would like it at 45% but this works and is consistent

Keeping the humidity at 47% everyday. Would like it at 45% but this works and is consistent. Much better than the two units that I previously would have to remove, plug in to dry, and put back every few days, which I only really did about once a month.

Maybe a Last Resort

Using this product to heat and lower humidity levels in my gunsafe that is stored in my garage. Using several silica gel dehumidifiers as well. Average garage temperature is 50 degrees Fahrenheit. The temperature in the safe is about 2 degrees higher and humidity is about the same as the rest of the garage, about 39%. While the heating bar does get up to almost 120 degrees, the heat doesn't seem to spread to the rest of the safe. Don't see this making a difference but I did recieve a version of the brand that is made in China. I've attached some thermal images of my safe, heading bar is located on the floor. Wouldn't recommend this product to a friend.

Looks fine, but I am disappointed at how little heat it produces. Put it in a 30 cu ft safe and it doesn’t raise the temperature at all and the humidity is also unchanged. Checked the temperature of the bar with an infared thermometer and it was the advertised 150 degrees in spots, the temp wasn’t uniform across the whole bar. Will be adding another 24” bar.

Dehumidifier Rod for Gun Safe

It appears to be working great. When I open my safe it is at the bottom and I feel warmth up towards the upper shelves. So I am assuming it is keeping any moisture at bay.
