The Puppy Place series has been great. My daughter is crazy about all kinds of pets, especially dogs. This a fun series about a family that fosters puppies while they are waiting for a family to adopt them. Each book features a different type of puppy and teaches the reader about all the different kinds of dogs.
This book is centered around Goldie, a golden retriever puppy. This is the first book in the series and introduces the Peterson family. The Petersons are considering a puppy of their own, but decide to try out fostering to see if their family is up to the task of pet ownership.
My daughter has been going through these quickly, often completing a book in a single sitting because she really gets into them. The books keep her interest and she really enjoys the stories. It is best to start with the first book, Goldie, to get some background story. After that, you can go in pretty much any order, or read them in a row. The nice thing is that this series has a lot of books available already (30+ at the time of this review and more coming). We always run out of books, so a big series like this is great. Highly Recommended!
We are always looking for more chapter books for girls in this age group so here is a list of what we have enjoyed that focus on positive stories in case you are looking for a new series to try:

2) The Puppy Place (For your Pet Lovers)
3) Anna & Elsa (Frozen Series)
4) Never Girls (Disney Fairies Series)
5) Whatever After (Princess Series)
6) Tales From Pixie Hollow (Older Disney Fairies Series)
7) Rainbow Magic (Fairy Series for Younger Readers)
8) National Geographic Readers (Non-Fiction, not really a Chapter book but a great way to break into non-fiction)
