The adapter is sturdy and the plastic is just a bit too rigid to force a GoPro screws to cut its own thread through it.
Use a 3/16" bit and drill very slowly: the plastic is very soft. Do not use a 7/32". It leaves too little plastic between the hole and the edge.
This does not leave me as a happy camper with this product, but it isn't worth the hassle to return it, order another which might come from a different seller, but the same factory and so on. I'm just not happy about an inexpensive, but necessary, product turning into a do-it-yourself project.
I had the same problem as "all" others in regard to the hole being too small
for the GoPro mounting screws. I did not use a drill.
A drill will catch in plastic if you are not very careful, so I reamed the hole with
the pointy handle end of a file. I did not file the hole because the file teeth would
Since this end of a file is always tapered I could make the hole as loose or tight
as I wanted. It also left a slight ridge around the hole which made the friction work
better when tightening the screw so the adapter would not slip/tilt..Hope this helps.
The reason I am giving this review 1 star is that after drilling out the holes to fit the screw, the adapter still would not hold tight in the gopro mount. No matter how tight I screwed, it would still move in the mount, making this adapter absolutely useless.

As others have said, the hole for the gopro screw is too small, which is not a big deal. Others have drilled it. I would NOT suggest that you do that. Read morePublished 17 months ago by patricia
I use this as a lightweight mount for my GoPro when I want to put it on my drone. A single nut will hold it steady enough, and it weighs significantly less than the other mounting... Read morePublished 18 months ago by Salty Donkey
