I was gone the moment Cameron Knight couldn't stop thinking about the beautiful Lily Tennison and asked a valet more info about her. He's got it bad for her, and I got it bad for him, too (LOL). I love that the story was told in Cameron's perspective; I thought it sounded more personal and distinctive.
Storywise, it was awesome, the pacing was mellow; not too fast, not too slow. I love the angst that Cameron showed and how he discovered the one thing that could finally put him on his toes. I love that he can get rough sometimes and maintain his gentleness when necessary. Lily was easy to like, no qualms about her. From the moment she got those too tight skinny jeans and pink/purple shirts for Cameron, I knew I liked her already. She was just a little too naive sometimes, but she's got a good head on her shoulders.
Now, the other Caged members were something else, and I can't wait to read more about them. Christian, who met an earlier accident, needs to provide more info about his hospital stay. I am mystified by Sean, the lonely one, and of course, Logan, the ladies man. Jayne Frost got me hooked from the beginning and I can see myself getting addicted till the end!
Now on to the actual review of this book!
So when I received the request to review these books, I was already interested just based off of what the publisher sent me. However, I was not expecting it to be told from the perspective of a male. I’m not sure why, I just wasn’t. But I’m so glad it was because it made it so much more interesting! If you follow my blog, you know I LOVE having the male perspective in books! For some reason it completely wins me over. So I was super excited once I realized it was told from Cameron’s perspective!
At first, Cameron is your typical douchebag famous band guy. I didn’t particularly like him, but I also couldn’t really blame him for his lifestyle either. He, nor I, was expecting his whole view on love and relationships to change when he met Lily.
I immediately fell IN LOVE with Lily’s character! She was so sassy and refused to be treated like a piece of tail by these band guys. I LOVED IT! Plus, she was super petty with Cameron and it was quite entertaining. I actually found myself literally laughing out loud at some of the things Lily would pull with Cameron.
Another thing I really loved about the book and Lily, was that Lily was in NO WAY made out to be PERFECT. She actually had a stutter, which was super cute. I’m so thankful to Jayne Frost for doing this because most of these books have this absolutely flawless girl that gets the guy. That being said, I thoroughly enjoyed have a female MC that had a very obvious flaw.
I didn’t expect things to progress the way they did in the story, but I really like that it did! It was just all of a sudden full force and it was AWESOME! It really made me fall for Cameron when he finally started opening up to Lily and letting himself be vulnerable with her. It also made me think that there may be something more going on between them.
Y’all also know I’m a sucker for finding out where the title of books come from and this one was SUPER CUTE!
I know things can’t be all rainbows and butterflies in life or books, but I completely went on a RAMPAGE for a minute will reading this book. Lily is such an idiot in part of this book and I was just thinking you CANT BE SERIOUS right now! I hate these girls that dont see what they have and leave it behind! I dont care what it’s for, it’s not worth it in my opinion. The reason this gave me all the angry feels is because it’s coming from someone that is dying to have what they do and they just THROW IT AWAY!
Thankfully, it was only 24 book hours of misery before everyone came to their senses. And the ending was so cute. I LOVED it! I wanted to dive right into the next book immediately. AND I DID!
GONE FOR YOU is her first book and since the author announced last year she would release an edited version with an added female point of view I decided to wait. Finally I had the chance to listen to the audio and because I was curious I wanted to see what she'd changed. People, this book profited from the edits. The female POV gives the story meat and the subtle edits make it multi-layered. Granted, this is a short book and you can't go super deep in this kind of page count but it's not necessary with this one because Gone for You is different from everything else I've read by Jayne Frost. It has her stellar writing style but instead of her deeply emotional plots this one is lighthearted, cute and flirty and sexy.
It was also interesting (and awesome) to see Logan and Sean pre-HEA. It gives this story another layer.
I loved Cameron and Lily's story, I loved how Lily didn't let her stutter define her, how she wasn't impressed or intimidated by Cameron's celebrity status because, frankly, out of the two she was the bigger fish. I hated her mother for making her feel rotten for her "speech problem." I loved Cameron's quick acceptance of his feelings for Lily - yeah, he fell fast but Jayne Frost made it work. I thought it was sweet that he found Lily's stutter adorable, that he made her feel special.
Jacob Morgan doesn't need to be introduced - he is a fixture on my audiobook list. And so is Ava Erickson - she has a young voice, someone who totally pulls off the New Adult heroines. She was perfect for Lily.
If you are looking for a fun, cute story, grab this! It'll make you feel good.

In this first book in the series you meet Cameron Knight bass guitarist for the band Caged. The opening of the book is met with disaster when another member of the band ends up in hospital.
After a few moments of disaster with the bands horrendous manager they trot off to a new hotel out of the way called The Mansion where you meet Lily the events coordinator for the hotel. There is an instant spark between Cameron and Lily and even though you can guess what happens I enjoyed how there story is written.
Jayne Frost opens this series with a punch and you have a little bit of heartbreak as well a whole lot of romance and sex. I enjoyed Jaynes style of writing and am looking forward to reading the rest of the series. Overall a really enjoyable quick read.
Both lead characters are lovable and the original defiance from lily is brilliant. But finally they... Won't spoil it as I really think this is a story for lovers of book boyfriends. This is the first of the series. Give it a go.
The for me there is enough description of the scenes to create the image in your mind.
Really loved this. Well done Jayne Frost.
I had some laugh out loud moments Jayne really does do the one liners well.
If you’re looking for an alpha male who takes what he wants, and when he wants seriously then this is the book for you.
Cam wears his heart on his sleeve but he’s not one to be walked over.
I do love that the females are strong and ca stand their own against anyone, we all have flaws and insecurities but can stand with the best of them.
Roll on Book 2 👌
