Who designed this exercise? This exercise was concisely designed by David Chen, Ph.D. in Exercise Science. Dr. Chen received his bachelor and master degrees in physical education from Beijing Institute of Physical Education, and his doctor degree from the University of North Caroline at Greensboro. Dr. Chen has been studying and working on teaching and teacher education in Eastern and Western exercise and fitness fields for over 20 years. Thousands of students have benefited from his instructions. Dr. Chen fully understands the difficulties and frustrations that Western students have had in learning Eastern exercise styles like Tai Chi and Qigong systerms. To help more Western people who are interested in Chinese style exercises fully enjoy the beauty and benefits of Tai Chi and Qigong practice IMMEDIATELY, Dr. Chen has been developing viewer-friendly, easy, safe, enjoyable and effective exercise routines for various populations. All of these exercise routines were carefully designed by following safety rules, professional teaching guidelines, human learning characteristics, and principles in traditional Chinese medicine and modern exercise science. These exercises also reflect the harmony of the combination of Eastern and Western exercise philosophies and techniques. What is special in this video? This video includes 5 easy, business-suit safe and effective Tai Chi and Qigong forms. It was designed for business people who are on busy schedules to maintain a short and regular body-mind workout routine during business breaks without taking business suit off. All movements demonstrated by Dr. Chen are mirrored to allow people to follow easily. The movements are well balanced between left and right so learners can get even development of their fitness. Breathing cues are fully integrated into the whole routine. This video was designed for practice in a small space (about 4 x 4 square feet).

Testimonials for Dr. Chen's exercise video programs (more on ctaichi.com):
"I have been a student of Tai-Chi for five years attending classes and using a variety of videos. I recently had an accident and find myself in a wheelchair. After trying to alter my past forms, I found the tape by Dr. Chen for people on Wheelchair (001). It has been wonderful and such a plus for my emotional, mental and physical well being and healing. I practiced with the tape three days in a row and can feel the movement of the chi throughout my body. This is one video that will get many hours of play. It is very difficult to find exercise videos for the handicapped let alone one that presents itself in alternative modalities. In time, I hope I can advance to tapes not needing the wheelchair. Dr. Chen's tapes and DVDs are ones that I will use faithfully."

"I use a wheelchair and was looking for an exercise program I could do in the chair. That is how I found Dr. Chen's Tai Chi on a chair vidoes. This is the only program I have found that is not boring. It is also easy to learn because all I have to do is follow Dr. Chen's movements and breathing cues. I really enjoy it and do it every morning. Not only is it fun to do, it gives me energy and has given me great flexibility and tone in my upper body. I also lift weights, which can cause muscle soreness the following day. I find that doing the Tai Chi routine relieves the muscle soreness. In addition to the physical benefits, I also feel more calm throughout the day when I do the Tai Chi every morning. I love doing Tai Chi. I started with 001 and then moved to 002. Now I am looking forward to the Tai Chi GongFa 003. I highly recommend Dr.
