It's in the "can't put it down" category! ~ Amazon reader review

From the Author

INTERVIEW WITH AUTHOR GREGG AKKERMAN

If you had to briefly explain this book, what would you say?
Friends have been telling me for years, "Dude, you've gotta write that shit down somewhere." I've had what I consider to be a charmed life. Maybe others can learn from it and have a couple laughs along the way.

Who are the major influencers in your life and philosophy?
I grew up just wanting to be half as cool as Robert Plant and Bono. My philosophy was basically sanctified in the deep waters of hard rock. I'm just a regular Dude who got more education from a Pink Floyd album than most books I ever read--like a lot of men my age.

What other authors or books influenced you to write this one?
I love reading all the rock-star autobiographies coming out these days. They all want to get their stories down while they can still remember them I guess. The ones from Sammy Hagar, Steven Tyler, Keith Richards, Glenn Hughes, Steven Adler, Chrissy Hynde, Slash, and Eric Clapton are all exceptional.

What are some of the major ideas that you integrate into this book or your life in general?
Doesn't it always come down to "don't be an asshole." So many times in my life I've been around people who have a clear choice to be an asshole or not, and they knowlingly make the wrong decision. I don't want to be like that.

If you couldn't use your current book title, what would be another choice?
I went through so many titles on my way to "So Good." I suppose an alternate would be, "Doing Okay. Hope You Are Too."

You have a Doctorate degree, so why don't you use the title of "Doctor" on the front book cover?
I do have a Doctorate! And I'm very proud of it. It just doesn't apply to this kind of book. Actually, I like the title of "Dude" as much as "Doctor."
