So far, my favorite book in this trilogy was the second one--it has the most useful recipes for me an my family and comes with a DVD of Good Eats shorts. As mentioned, this one also contains several "shows" that are not to be had on DVD yet. After having more time to look through recipes in this book that I am not already familiar with, I may change my mind and suggest this one as the best, but that's how it stands for now.
Also, if you like Alton Brown, you may consider Mark Bittman. How To Cook Everything: Simple Recipes for Great Food is probably his most popular book, but The Food Matters Cookbook: 500 Revolutionary Recipes for Better Living is also very good.

Each time I read this, it gets better and better. Don't necessarily use it for exact recipes, but always a great place to start and deviate from any thing I want to cook. Read morePublished 2 months ago by kingmarki
