Rihanna - Good Girl Gone Bad: Reloaded (GGGBR)
Reviewed in the United States on December 2, 2008
In Good Girl Gone Bad, Rihanna produced a couple of decent hits that made this album a worldwide success. However, in GGGBR, she pushed the envelope once again and introduced 3 major hit tracks, all of which have given the world good music to listen to. Unfortunately, there are some tracks on there that, because of all of the WONDERFUL track on the rest of the album, seem to me to be filler track...but still great!!!

This is the album that introduce us to the Rihanna we all know now, something we didn't see in her first and second album. To be honest if she had kept that musical image from her first and second album I don't think she would have lasted all these years. The Album "Good Girl Gone bad: Reloaded" I feel is when Rihanna made a great shift in her music for the better and is the album where I started to really listen to her single's. Some of her singles from her first two albums were cool but it didn't stand out like the singles from this album. I remember hearing her first single "Umbrella" I was like wow but it was her single "Don't stop the music" that it became my first favorite song from her. "Shut and Drive" & "Rehab" are cool songs but the extra songs from the Reloaded album like "Disturbia" and "If I never see your face again"(Maroon 5 feat. Rihanna) was the icing on the cake that made me buy the singles. It wasn't until now that I finally bought the album after more then a decade it was released because I still listen to a few of her singles from this album coupled with the price amazon is selling it for and the free MP3 album download is provided when you buy it, I think it's worth it. Get it while supplies last.

I, like another reviewer stated, am probably outside of the demographic group that the label wants to buy into Rihanna but I loved the debut single, UMBRELLA and wanted to hear more.
Given Rihanna's limited vocal ability and the way that her label is mass producing her I feared this album would be the worst of her three releases; however it was really smart of the powers that be to switch up her style and make a more pop-oriented disc. There are no tracks on this disc with the island beats used previously to showcase her heritage but she also stayed in her vocal lane, didn't attempt runs out of her range & produced a good pop album.
My standout tracks are:
UMBRELLA - inescapably catchy single, excellent lead single choice
DON'T STOP THE MUSIC - great dance club cut, love the techno beats
REHAB - I like the musical arrangement moreseo than her vocals
GOOD GIRL GONE BAD - love the production & the lyrics
QUESTIONS EXISTING - dark single, love the production
LEMME GET THAT - funny lyrics, excellent musical production
SELL ME CANDY & BREAKING DISHES - although I don't like them as much as those previously mentioned, both feature catchy musical arrangements & fun pop lyrics
I'd recommend this disc to pop music lovers and those who are curious about the new sound Rihanna's music has taken - it's a fun disc to listen to.

Just twenty-two months since releasing her debut album, 19-year-old Rihanna is already on her way to superstardom, not to mention she has two #1 hits under her belt. Since embarking on her quest to top the charts worldwide, Rihanna has continued to defy original predictions that the "Pon de Replay" star would remain a one-hit-wonder.
On her third album, `Good Girl Gone Bad,' Rihanna offers the strongest track listing to date, full of club hits like "Don't Stop the Music" and "Breakin' Dishes." Even though her vocals arguably have not improved since her `Music of the Sun' days, the production more than makes up for this factor. The greatest example of this is her #1 single "Umbrella," which has already become one of the songs of Summer 2007.
Even though the majority of Rihanna's new material is up-tempo, her duet with Ne-Yo, "Hate That I Love You," is a refreshing change of pace and doesn't slow down the momentum of the album. Although it does sound like a cookie-cutter Ne-Yo track, it still helps balance out the speed-driven "Shut Up and Drive" tracks.
Although overall a major improvement from `Sun' and `A Girl Like Me,' `Bad' has its share of weak album tracks, including "Say It" and "Question Existing." Neither of these tracks should have left the studio on the album. "Rehab," on the other hand, is actually catchy (and could fit a lot of today's stars' lives like a glove), and the mid-tempo "Good Girl Gone Bad" is a great way to end the album in Nelly Furtado fashion.
No matter how hard Rihanna tries to convince the world that she has gone bad, nothing will change the fact that this album is surprisingly good.

I'm an older guy who picks up a lot of current music from my kids. I like R&B was never a big Rihanna fan. Still, I found this album on Amazon's $5.00 download special and found it interesting so I bought i and found it surprisingly good. I really don't think there's a bad cut on the album. I do particularly like the cuts that get the radio play and my favorite is "Shut Up And Drive" but "Umbrella" and "Don't Stop The Music" are good as well. A couple of my other favorites on this album are "Push Up On Me" and "Rehab." All in all, a worthy download and very much recommended.

Recomendo!
