“John Bevere is a respected teacher, leader, and author, and beyond all of that he is a good friend and fellow kingdom builder. His desire to see each person live not just a good life but a God life will increase your faith and challenge you to walk boldly into all that Jesus has for you. John’s teaching and personal revela- tions will give you new insight into the will of God and His very best plans for your future.”
―Brian Houston, senior pastor of Hillsong Church
“When I read the stories of people who did unprecedented things out of love for God, I find myself longing to be among them. Good or God? speaks to what happens in the minds and hearts of those who truly embrace God’s best―rather than settling for easier counterfeits. If you share this desire to know and serve God in a radical way, I urge you to read this book.”
―John C. Maxwell, best-selling author and speaker

Eve considered the tree that God had told them not to eat to be "good" and "desirable" so all of mankind was affected. My bible study is using this book to gain Godly wisdom and truth from the scriptures. John Bevere always gives the scripture as his points and does a wonderful job. This is the second book of his we have used. The other one was "The Holy Spirit" which is a very eye opening book.
For example, Saul gave a burnt offering to God. Seems great. Wow! The King of Israel is so holy! But God limited that type of worship to the priests and while what Saul was doing probably looked great to a lot of people, it was based on pride.
John explores this dynamic with tons of scripture and helps us to "walk by faith and not by sight".
"We’ve embraced the sovereignty of God and our positional right standing with Him but have overlooked our responsibility to believe and obey His commands in our pursuit of holiness..."
The revelations in this book will reveal the true heart or deceptive thoughts of the Christian who reads it...a truth we all need to walk in.
Today, when modern culture approves of every kind of perversion that the Bible plainly says that God hates, purity in doctrine and personal living is essential for anyone who wants to avoid (figuratively) nailing Christ to the cross again with their hard-hearted habitual sins.
This book exposes the modern "feel good gospel" that leaves out the conviction of sinners for their sins and points back to the cross and the example of Jesus, who as the pure Word of God, never wavered in His perfect example of obedience to our Heavenly Father. If we walk in his footsteps we must do as the Apostle Paul did, and "die daily" to our desires as we follow His guidance. Perfect happiness is found in perfect Love - and God is Love.
