It impressed me that he was always able to work out efficient and elegant coding solutions for each problem that would arise.
In fact it seemed that he was never satisfied until his solutions were the best possible.
Clearly each was the fruit of his interest, enjoyment and responsible attitude in crafting them.
The examples that Will presents in his book are no exception.
Each "techbit" is an example of a best-of-breed "information nugget" that is at the same time useful and instructive.
If you are a website developer don't hesitate to spend the five bucks on this book.
52 Good-to-Know Techbits: An Essential Resource for Website Developers
As a bonus, included as a gift is a second useful book: Responsive Coding Tips & Tricks.
I've been a subscriber and reader of Will's weekly newsletter for a long time, have purchased some of his products, and when I've needed it, Will has provided great help with coding issues.
So, I was delighted to see he'd written this book, and having read it, was not disappointed. It's thorough, concise, and Will is a great "teacher." His explanations take the mystery out of why a particular code snippet works, and being a techie kind of guy, I love knowing!
I've already clipped several of his snippets of code for incorporation in my sites. It's true: a fragment of code can change everything!
I'd also note Will's bonuses. Being a Kindle product, Will rightly notes that clipping is difficult. So, he provides an online page that contains all of the "techbits." Easy!
The other bonus is another electronic book, (.mobi or .pdf) "Responsive Coding Tips and Tricks." I just downloaded and tried to scan it, but kept getting pulled in -- I spent an hour reading Will's clear explanations. Again, code is available online.
Anyway, this is a "not to be missed" deal if you code your own pages, work with code in WordPress, or are simply curious about CSS, HTML, or PHP. Grab it! You'll be glad you did!
It is rich in a variety of topics for website development information and covers production tools, forms use, presenting content, time savers and improving website management. There are instructions on how to make an image responsive to available width which was very helpful to me. I appreciated the information about preventing theft and cookie management. An awesome book! It even includes an explanation about how to automatically update the copyright on the website. Not knowing how to do that was a thorn in my side for a long time. Well done!
Beginners as well as more advanced site developers will find this book a great resource. The author even provided online access to easily copy/paste these tips into your own work. There are simple "Techtips" which non-experts will appreciate
Now he presents "52 Good-to-Know Techbits" that sucks you in like a well written novel! Techie or no, coder ot not, this little gem will fast become your coding bible.
I could go on and on, but for $4.99 you can't possibly lose. He over delivers in so many ways!
