I saw Cattle Call perform live in Boston and bought their CD immediately. Mark Farrington has a great voice and the songs are quite catchy. Though I am typically a folk, and not a country music fan, I love the album and have been playing it non-stop since.

Lead singer/songwriter Mark Farrington has a definite Neil Young thing going on with his voice, and it suits his beautifully written songs to a tee. Hailing from Maine, Farrington celebrates his roots while playfully denying ties to more celebrated Country music locales. The emotion and twang of his music are the equal to that found in country bastions as Texas, and puts most of the current Nashville crop to shame. The opening track, "Log Trucks and Snowmobile Trails" is worth the price of the disc all by itself.
A near perfect example of why musicians should be left to their own devices to produce their music, and a good pick for those who like their country toned down a bit, with a folky edge.

Great CD by a great songwriter......love "Log Trucks and Snowmobile Trails". Some of the tracks are infectious, some introspective, all of them are great. Highly recommend to any country music fans.
