Product Description
Freda Kelly was just a shy Liverpudlian teenager when she was asked to work for a local band hoping to make it big. Though she had no concept of how far they would go, Freda had faith in The Beatles from the beginning and The Beatles had faith in her. Many people came in and out of the band's circle
as they grew to international stardom, but Freda remained a staple because of her unfaltering loyalty and dedication. As The Beatles' devoted secretary and friend, Freda was there as history unfolded; she was witness to the evolution - advances and setbacks, breakthroughs and challenges - of the greatest band in history. For the first
time in 50 years, Freda shares her story.

In a time where people sell their souls for money, it's refreshing to see such a principled and ethical person as she. The values she leaves her grandchildren are her legacy.
Thank you Freda.
Kinda amazing after all these years that stuff that was able to be seen and heard. Wish she would have made a fortune, but she did get to live a life like nobody else with the Beatles.
Good Ol’ Freda stands as an argument in favor of telling the story about the people. Freda was secretary to and fan club conduit for the most famous band of its era, The Beatles. The generation most immediately thrilled by these musician is gently aging and in its place is the generation who knew them not. This leads a timeliness to honoring Freda.
Honor is the right word. Keeping hers and theirs was from the beginning the seal she placed on herself and any others over whom she would have authority. It is possible that she was never present when major business decisions were made. If she was present for the creation of much of the music, hers was incidental though on occasion part of the inspiration. Nothing in this documentary will address these speculations.
Instead, we have the rare story of an industry insider determined that there be no dirt to be dished. Freda always knew wherein her loyalties lay. She was giving of herself such that the parents to the not yet famous band members knew they could trust with their friendship. Ultimately, she was trusted, because she was that kind of person. And remains that person.
The documentary can feel shallow, simply because she will not give over more than what her principals allow. It can be repetitious in part because the team behind the movie was mining much of the rarely if ever before seen images that Freda had treasured from the beginning of their tenure. To the degree these are criticisms, they emphasize the degree to which Good Ol’ Freda holds herself to her standards.

The film is great. Freda comes across as truly lovely and someone I'd be enthused to meet. Her story is engaging and nicely presented and I really enjoyed it. A lot of the archive photography, especially from the early days in Liverpool, is exceptional and the music (mostly non-Beatles) appropriate. After watching this I immediately ordered a DVD copy to send to a friend.
Thanks for telling your story Freda, if you're half as nice as you appear then you are blessed.

Lovely!
