Pad Thai is often considered the quintessential dish of Thailand. This rice noodle dish is served up everywhere from street carts to restaurants, encompassing the four Thai flavors of sweet, salty, sour and spicy. At Good To-Go we achieve this flavor profile using traditional ingredients that are used in kitchens across Thailand. Our rice noodles, matchstick carrots, caramelized onions, bean sprouts and peanuts are all tossed in a flavorful sauce of Wild American Shrimp and Tamarind. Ingredients: Rice Noodles (Rice Flour, Water), Carrots, Whole Pasteurized Eggs, Onion, Bean Sprouts, Brown Sugar, Textured Vegetable Protein (Defatted Soy Flour), Dry Roasted Peanuts, Grapeseed Oil, Fish Salt (Anchovy, Sea Salt), Rice Flour, Garlic, Tamarind Powder (Tamarind), Dried Ground Shrimp (Shrimp, Salt), Dried Scallions, Dried Cilantro, Lime Juice Powder (Maltodextrin, Lime Juice, Lime Oil), Turmeric, Dried Thai Chiles

- Includes peanuts in a separate package
- Not salty or over-seasoned
- Tasty if you’re craving something a little sweet
- Surprisingly filling
- The wild shrimp was not as pronounced as I had hoped
- For me, it was a little too carroty sweet
- Between the TVP and egg, it also tasted very eggy
- I likely needed to let it sit longer than usual as the noodles weren’t as soft as expected
I had planned the double serving on a long day, as I assumed I would be extra hungry. I ate my fill and it was probably less than half, so that was nice and I've since found the single portions more than adequate. I saved the leftovers but they were not super to eat cold in the morning. I think where it failed for me was the texture and the fact that I was craving something more savory than sweet. Texture could probably be improved by longer rehydration shielded from the cold. This doesn't taste like restaurant-quality pad thai, but I could see it being satisfying after a week or two without veggies. I might have liked it more had I added some peanut butter, packet or powder. For me, I’d prefer the Thai Curry if I was in the mood for something Thai. My hands down favorites by Good to Go are the Herbed Mushroom Risotto, Bibimbap and Indian Korma.
Excellent tasting dinner, especially after day of hiking.
We found the two serving portion was just a bit light for us and combined with a one-serving portion, and split them equally between us.
Good amount of spice, although we brought along some sriracha because we really like spicy food.
Don't be fooled by the looks of the stuff before re hydrating as it looks gross and not very promising.
Re-hydrate in bag. Takes awhile. Good to wrap bag with towel or something the keep warm if cold outside.
The bags themselves are tough, none busted open during the hike.
Only downside may be value, they are expensive. But then, compared to a night out, maybe not so much.
