Using this with CHIRP to program my Yaesu VX-8DR on Windows 7, no issues whatsoever. Make sure you have the driver installed and follow the proper procedures for reading and writing to the radio. There is also an OSX guide online that can be found with a simple Google search.

I purchased this cable to try to program my Yaesu VX-8DR with my Macbook Air using Chirp software. The packaging says, "No driver needed." However, the product does not allow my Mac to see Yaesu. Obviously, you need a driver for this cable, but there is no information supplied as to which one will work. I am unwilling to risk a conflict with the existing USB driver and end up being unable to use my camera, video devices, or GPS with my Mac. A mini-CD ROM is supplied with the cable, but mini-CDs are NOT recommended for use with Apple's CD ROM drives. I do not want to damage my drive. I am going to return this item.

I was contacted by the manufacturer after receiving an RMA from Amazon. They claim they have the software available for working with the Mac to download separately and I believe them, but question whether it will be fully compatible with my Mac. My solution will be to either get more help and program the radio manually, which I have not mastered yet, or buy Parallels software, Windows, and Yaesu's cable and software to install the repeater info.
