If you like this one, Old Judge Priest is his next volume. John Ford produced two movie made from the stories contained within these pages, ..Judge Priest (1934) with the incomparable Will Rogers as the Judge, and Ford's personal favorite film Sun Shines Bright (1953))one of his last movies as I recall. Charles Winninger portrays the "Jedge" in this version. If you want to see Cobb in all his glory lmao..find Steamboat Round the Bend, another of Ford's films also starring Will Rogers. (1935)..this is a Rogers classic...
I knew nothing about the movie before ordering from Netflix, and later found that it has won numerous important honors in the industry.
I was not enamored as much of the boy's peripheral relationships with newfound friends, with the exception of his friendship with a Jewish boy. The other friendships seemed to me like filler. Nevertheless, in my opinion the book is excellent on the whole.
