We start this story with Cal aka Charlie aka Callum David Ross POV which remains for most of the book, His love for his Angel aka Josh Cooper makes him realize there is only one solution to his and Josh's situation and it's for him to pack his bags and go to Josh before it's too late. It's one thing to accept they can't work together at CDR, but it's surely unreasonably to stay in the US when Josh has moved to the UK. His decision becomes instant when there is an attempt on Josh's life.
While Josh is working at The Agency, Cal is mostly off the loop until the head of The Agency recruits him, or rather, pays his newly found company - Angel Enterprises to help solve the immediate treat to The Agency. Operatives and their spouses are being targeted and with each day it becomes more complicated and also hits too close... Cal tries using his uncle - Sir Gideon for help but he is somehow reluctant to help even though he plays nice as if he is doing his best. But actually he is targeted as well. Pretty frightening! Also it's quite obvious it has to be someone from the inside. Both Josh and Cal had enough of that with one of Josh's bodyguards in the previous book who turned against everyone, including his twin brother.
There is much that happens in this one yet the romance is still front and center. Josh and Cal loves each other that's for sure but they still need to keep on getting to know one another. I really appreciate the way their romance unfolds. Though this is romantic suspense and both Josh and Cal are 'menly men' they are also emotional and simply adorable towards one another. Everyone has it inside of them, and I love the fact both act upon their emotions and SAY what they have to say and even shed a tear when the moment is 'right'. Everything about these two feels genuine to me which I absolutely adore about this book and series.
I truly wish we got a full stop at the end of this one, yet we don't. A 'bomb' is being dropped and all we can do is sit around and wait for the next one. I should say it says Autumn 2017 so it MIGHT be around the corner yet I still haven't seen any details about it.
Both 'Goodnight My Angel' and this one are HIGHLY Recommended ENDED but MUST be read in order.

As always with Sue Brown's books, this is very well written and I loved the story and characters. Reason for the low rating? CLIFFHANGER!!! There is nothing I despise as much as a story that has no ending and if I didn't have such respect for her writing I would have rated it even lower. For me, cliffhangers are a cheap way to entice readers into buying another book and also show a lack of respect for the readers. Just my opinion.
In a good thriller the reader is kept guessing as to where the threat is coming from, why it is there, and who’s behind it. I kinda loved that, for a while at least, Cal shared this ‘frustration’ with the reader, having as little idea what was going on as I did. Not that his position improved much once he’d been recruited into the investigation; then he found himself in the dark but on the inside. I, on the other hand, had my suspicions rather early on and still haven’t made up my mind whether I’m proud or disappointed that I turned out to be right.
I fell hard and fast for Cal and Josh, AKA Charlie and Angel, in Morning My Angel and I love them even more after this book. In fact, the thing about these two books I totally adore most is the snarky yet loving interaction between these two men while they find themselves under constant threat and the world around them is on fire. While this is definitely a high-octane and incredibly fast-paced story, Cal and Josh always find moments to ease the tension for themselves and for the reader for a few moments, be it through (very) sexy times, snarky conversations, or lovingly taking care of each other.
I guess this book could be read without reading Morning My Angel first, but I would advise against such a course of action. You’ll get far more out of both books if you read them in the right order.
And then the story ends…except that it doesn’t. Not in the strictest sense of the word ‘ending’. Answers are provided but closure not so much. While I have a deep-rooted dislike for cliff-hangers, this book only left me yearning for more, not feeling cheated or frustrated. Having said that, I could do with Sue Brown typing at double-time and providing me with the next Angel Enterprises title like…yesterday J In the meantime I highly recommend this book to those who enjoy a fast-paced, heart-stopping, sexy, and at times funny romantic thriller.
