Great Screen, great camera shots and speedy under screen finger print ID is a work in progress.

I purchased my unlocked Pixel 6 direct from the Google Store, it arrived on the 28th of Oct. I was pleasantly surprised, coming from a Pixel 4a that it was easy to hold on to. Here is the good and the not so good.THE GOOD1. Priced fair $599 for a phone this good a great.2. The screen is very nice, the move from a 60hz refresh rate (Pixel4a) to the 90hz refresh rate is wonderful, the clarity is much better, screen colors look great. I'm sure they may not be perfect but in everyday usage it is outstanding.3. The screen is a pleasure to use, the Gorilla Glass is clear and basically no fingerprint smudge. I had ordered 2 different screen protectors from Amazon, the less of the 2 arrived before the phone arrived, it looks good, but the smoothness of the Gorilla Glass was more satisfying.4. Android 12 is delightful, I had been trying the Beta on my Pixel 4a so the learning curve was small. I like it, your milage may vary.5. The interrogation of spam call screening and blocking is for the most part outstanding, what a time saver and stress reducer.6. Being able to press down on your app and have side menus is wonderful7. The call quality is excellent ( of course you milage may vary due to your carrier)The not so good:1. The fingerprint scanner is temperamental at times. I discovered it likes your finger flat on it, more successful sign ons when using it. The screen protector did cut down on the accuracy somewhat, not really the Pixels fault, hopefully when the better quality screen protector arrives it will make it easier .2. An unlocked phone is not necessarily an unlocked phone. I have been using Visable (Verizon's online company) Have loved it, works as well as one can expect Verizon to work, looked on their site, they were showing the Pixel 6 and 6 pro coming, great I thought, well was I wrong, the 6 comes with Sub 6Ghz but not with 5G mmWave and our good friends, as I discovered only support 5G mmWave, Yikes. Now I could really care less, it seems 5G mmWave is faster but has a horrible range, the 6Ghz isn't as fast but much better range. My bad for not catching that, it appears that most everyone else supports 6GHz which in the wide open spaces would seem to make more sense. The super geeks can debate that one. So Google Fi is now my carrier, too early to tell if we will be in a long term relationship, or just a fall fling.3. Battery so far average, but I am a heavy user, I reserve long term judgement, it still gets me thru the day, not 2 days.In closing: I do believe this a worthwhile phone, seems like a good build quality, I move forward from my 4a. Is it perfect, no, but neither am I. Glad I bought it.

I had a Pixel3 XL for the last few years and really liked it. But I wanted the new phone features, especially the new camera and majic erase. By the time I decided which Pixel phone I wanted Google was 'sold out' of Sorta Seafoam. I didn't want black so I ordered this one on Amazon. First of all, buying an unlocked phone and having to order a SIM kit from Google Fi was a much bigger process and pain than just getting the phone from Google with the SIM pre-installed, but that's a first-world problem. But once the SIM was successfully installed I turned the phone on and everything came up in what I thought was Chinese! I had no way of figuring out how to change the language and no search was helpful online. Finally, I thought to take it to my neighbor whose wife is Chinese. She took one look and said this is Japanese language. But she was also able to figure out how to get it to English. So I took my phone and I've used it for the past 10 days. I will agree with reviews here that the phone feels heavy, perhaps even heavier than my previous Pixel XL. But the thing that is causing me the most frustration is the camera. The pictures I have taken are awful! First, I took pictures with a group of girlfriends. I was the only one that did and it turns out the pictures seemed stretched at the edges. The girls sitting at both ends ended up looking like their shoulders were line-backers' and their arms looked huge! Like the pictures Realtors now post of interiors- WAY stretched and distorted. As you can imagine. Not a very popular thing with a bunch of girls. Also the colors were not very vivid and the lighting was really dim and dull. Next, I took pictures in my living room two mornings ago. My husband and I were having coffee. He snapped a photo of our dog on my lap with his new Samsung Galaxy s22 Plus. When she moved over to his lap, I took a picture with this new Google pixel 6 from Amazon. I have posted these two in my review and you can see the difference. His Samsung took a picture that was vivid and bright. The Pixel took a picture that was so dull. I had to wonder if there was something covering the lens! I actually took my phone to the local Best Buy store and compared it with the Pixel 6 displays both the 6A and the 6. Both of those phones displays were bright and vivid and this one is dull as you can see from the sample picture. So this phone is going back and it has eaten up way too much of my time and energy. The display Google phones had the color and light I was expecting. So now I have ordered one of the remaining Google pixel 6 in the only color left which is black, this one from Target which I am assuming will be providing the real product (because to be this bad this phone must be a knock off! And coming from unknown origin in Asia makes you wonder...). If I don't have an extremely better experience with this one, I will return it and move on to a different phone.

Note: Am not into gaming so my usage on average daily includes mails, WhatsApp, Maps, basic music/video streaming on and off, and few photographs (unless am on vacation where I click a lot!)
1. The software is as clean as it could be ofcourse.
2. Got upgraded to Android 13 in hardly 20 days of purchase.
3. Camera is THE best. Some of the effects like motion photo, magic eraser, cinematic photo and creations are absolutely rich and above the best in market. Above iphones I will say.
4. Being Google phone, getting lot of security updates and bug fixes. So even if there are issues be assured it will be fixed soon.
5. I moved over from OnePlus series, so certainly missing the fast charging option. I use a 'Dr. Vaku' charger supporting multi watt charging. Charging is not great and certainly takes an hour for full charge or even more.
6. Battery discharge appears bit fast so little disappointed on that front.
7. Loads of gimmicks and features loaded. My favourite is taking screenshot on tapping phones back . Choose your favourite.
8. Lots of customisations available like wallpaper/theme based app skin color, widgets etc.
9. The phone does heat up at times on long usage of app like Maps, Camera, video streaming. The mention of long here varies App to App. It does cool down easily but it does feel annoyingly warm.
10. Haptic touch, screen resolution etc are great even in normal sunlight.
11. Purchased it from 'world bazaar' seller. Received nice seal packed phone. On cheking IMEI online, seems mine is China product. The one you may get could be Japan, USA anyone depending on stock of your seller.
12. There is no warranty in India as the phone is not officially sold here but I purchased with some calculated risk hoping nothing can go wrong in an year time with Pixel.
13. Dual sim possible. One Sim has to be made e-sim. In India only Airtel and Jio offer esim at this point and for that you will need to have a postpaid account SIM. Do note.
14. Brightness in broad daylight is fine.
15. Sound and phone volume is not loud. It could have been better.
Note: Some of these issues could be common in other primium phones like S21FE, Oneplus10 for e.g and have seen similar reviews online.
As I mentioned in caption, buy it only if you love pixel phone. The phone is not error free but some of the benefits overshadow the cons and hence I went ahead.

For potential buyers: The seller was "deals of you". Phone was sealed nicely and the package was good. Got mine at 68k and the price dropped just a day after ordering to 65k, then to 60k on the day the phone was delivered. Coming to the phone itself, after using Pixel 2 XL, I just could not like any other Android phone. I tried the Samsung flagships, Oneplus and none came close to the features that I liked and wanted from Pixel series.
This phone is a complete feature rich phone. Has 90Hz AMOLED display, surprisingly great sounding dual speakers, great chipset and storage, absolutely mind blowing cameras, best haptics, fast charging.
The cameras are great, though a little extra bright at some points, but that might just be due to the large sensor size. The Sorta Seafoam colour is exactly as I had expected, bright but still subtle.
I love the OS and it was one of the main reasons why I wanted a Pixel phone. Clean, stock, slick Android 12. The phone WILL feel a lot heavier if you are coming from older metallic/plastic phones. The weight is similar to recent glass sandwich phones.
All around, I would say, a great phone. The accessories choices are definitely limited in India though, but apart from that, I recommend it around 55-60k.
