In 1985 when I was 11, my mom took my sister and me to a movie that would change my life - "The Goonies." From the opening moment, I was enthralled with this movie. I loved everything about what I was seeing from the humor to the adventure to the heart. Since then, I've seen this movie hundreds and hundreds of times. This 35th Anniversary Collectible Gift Set is a perfect addition to my Goonies collection.

From the picture on the Amazon website, I did think the box was going to be bigger, so when it arrived, I was a little disappointed. The addition of One-Eyed Willy's treasure map, buttons, and a patch made me feel better, though. These goodies along with the goodies from the 25th Anniversary Collectible are just an awesome array of items to own. I don't own a 4k player, I'm happy the set includes a Blu Ray copy as well. Watching the Blu Ray, I feel I'm seeing the movie brand new as the picture seems wider and there are more details to notice.

My love of "The Goonies" continues and I'm glad this is now a part of my Goonies collection.

This is a review of the 4K UHD version of the movie. This is the nicest transfer of the movie I've seen yet. The colors are vibrant and the picture is clear. There are some soft resolution sections noticeable, mostly in the backgrounds. I'm sure this is related to how the movie was filmed.
The sound quality is excellent.
Overall, I'm happy with the quality of the movie. It looks great on my 4K HDR television. Compared to some of the other 1980's movies transferred to 4K, this one was done right.
The extras in the giftset are OK, but I'm not sure they were really worth the premium price.
