Gore Bikewear Element Windstopper Active Shell Vest This versatile and layer-able vest perfectly complements any outfit. The wind protection of WINDSTOPPER Active Shell provides excellent comfort while riding. A two-compartment back pocket provides plenty of storage space. A gilet is perfect for use on a bike, especially if you set off early in the morning before the air has warmed up. The windproof fabric keeps your body warm on the front where the chilly wind hits it without making your back too hot. They are light and easy to roll up and store when things warm up. Reflective details on the gilet enhances your visibility to passing vehicles as well as improving visibility in low light conditions. A Napoleon style pocket located on the chest is a great storage place for small essential items that will not distract you as you cycle. A great Gilet for adding to your layering system, ideal for keeping the chill off on cooler summer days or for adding some core warmth over a long sleeve jersey in those cooler months of the year. The Element range is designed for the cycling lifestyle where leisure and sport are the aim. Developed with a broad usage in mind, Gore's Recreational Cycling Outfit Systems range from tight to loose fitting functional garments that are optimized for extensive multi-use, both on and off the road.

It's a stiffer material than my light Pearl Izumi wind-breaking vest so there's no flapping at cruising speed. It's a little tight in the tummy but that's my fault as it's obviously made for a fit body type. It fits my average 45-ish body well. It's not undersized like most Castelli clothes that I've gotten.
The blue is really nice and bright enough for me. It's eye-catching but not day-glow.
Minor complaints: It would have been nice if the top-zipper area had a garage to hide the zipper pull when it's zipped all the way up. The two back pockets have mesh surface on the person-facing sides. This will allow water to enter through the tops of the pockets then onto your back then into your butt. Designers, next time, vent the drainage away from my body.
the fit is great, very close fitting, but not too tight.
it's not lightweight, you can wear this vest in fairly cold wear, down into the mid 40's.
I like the fluorescent side panels for visibility as well.
