The largest in the Gorilla Carts line of dump carts, this beast was built to handle whatever you can throw at it. The new frame design significantly reduces assembly time while offering improved maneuverability, increased ground clearance, and a tighter turn radius. Heavy-Duty 15 in. pneumatic tires keep this workhorse on the move, and the patented dump feature allows the bed to tilt for easy unloading while keeping the cart balanced to prevent tipping. With a hauling capacity of 1,500 lbs. and 10 cu. ft., the thick, rugged high-strength poly bed means you can haul more with each load and finish the job faster and more efficiently. The convertible 2-in-1 handle makes it simple to switch between pulling the cart by hand or towing behind a lawn tractor. This is the cart you need for the biggest and toughest jobs. The bed dimensions measure 49-inches by 33-inches by 12-inches, and the cart has an overall height of 47.6-inches and weighs 86-pounds. Gorilla Carts full line of products meets the needs of the light-duty homeowner as well as the commercial-duty professional user by offering a wide variety of carts in different sizes and weight capacities. I was relieved, as not a single nut, washer or bolt is given as a spare. I wish the whole thing used hex heads with recesses large enough diameter to also hold a socket so I could use ratchet to ratchet with extensions. They are far easier to work with than a screwdriver and adjustable wrench. I used a ratchet & socket where I could on the nuts and a right angled ratcheting screwdriver worked in a couple places on the bolt heads but it was too short for most. A list of the bolt sizes so I can find wrenches/sockets faster would be nice too, sheesh how hard could that be to mark each pack on the cardboard sheet, not just by the step number, but what size wrench/socket fits so you don't round them off using an adjustable wrench? Those things always slip but a socket or properly sized wrench in good condition, no problem.
That being said, I love this cart. After assembling the cart in the bed of my Ranger pickup, I lifted it down to the ground and it was hefty, I was red in the face afterwards, but I managed. This thing turns really tight so I can get its monster self in and out of tight places easily as long as the width is enough for it, it does not pass through narrow spaces with the wide spaced wheels if you have to turn the wheels to get around something in that narrow area. It rolls like a dream on grass, uneven grass filled ditches, gravel and hard surfaces, even easier than the already easy rolling 13" wheeled cart I had since this cart has some hefty 15" tires. It looks awesome with it's tall stance and wide spread tires and holds a whole lot of stuff. (wide tires on a muscle car look) I can put two trash cans in it, laying down sideways across the bed (30gal round cans) to take them to where I'm going to fill them and of course they'll fit standing up, they take up less room standing. Awesome! It's so nice to not have to bend so low to pick things up and it has a high enough surface to work on things inside it but I need to make a custom top to keep the rain out when I'd like to have it sitting with the bed locked in place and to use as a storage for tools with a top that is a work surface. I wish they made one to fit like a sturdy cover/work surface that won't leak.
I don't have room in my shed for this monster so I tilt the bed up until it touches the ground then cover the whole thing in an XLg barbecue grill cover and use the cover's plastic clips to hold it in place. That way it won't fill with water and push the cover inside the bed and it's not exposed to sunlight all day. Yep, it stinks, but so did the first one and I kept it in the shed from the first day. It didn't bother me as I have a 5' wide door open when I'm in there for plenty of air flow.
I've put it to use already and I am very pleased with the handling, performance, and the stares it got when pulling it around the yard made me giggle. They were not looking at me, I'm an ugly old hag, they were checking out the cart! I can't blame 'em, it isn't your ordinary lawn cart.
PROS - Heavy duty, turns on a dime, rock solid bed, the dump feature works very well, will stand up to any project at a job site or task around the hose.
GENERAL - I've been using it to haul many rolls of sod and fix compost with dirt. It can hold far more than I have the strength to pull. Mixing 80lbs of compost with 80lbs of dirt is more than I can lift the body to dump. Would work well with a garden tractor.
CONS - It could use a braking capability. If you have it heavily loaded and you're working on the side of a hill, it's impossible to keep it from rolling without positioning it across the hill.
It weighs 86 pounds and is very difficult to turn over.
It would take 2 people to lift it into a pickup truck to transfer it to another job site.
