"R. T. France, long recognized as a Matthean scholar par excellence, now presents a crowning achievement in this superb full-length commentary. With the firm hand of a seasoned scholar, France offers a lively, insightful commentary marked above all by solid, no-nonsense exegesis. This is vintage France, and every student of Matthew will find great rewards here. I recommend this volume with the highest enthusiasm."
"This commentary will be of great benefit to scholars and exegetical preachers alike. Close analysis and sensible comments are the hallmarks of this book, and it will now stand appropriately alongside other recent major treatments of Matthew . . . while making its own significant contribution. This is a responsible, scholarly, and illuminating contribution to the study and interpretation of Matthew's gospel."

Kindle version navigation sucks big time! No chapters or anything to choose from. Imagine using the search for a keyword method from the 90s to try to find your verse. That's what you've got.
This commentary also gives "Excurses" (e.g., further insight on "Scribes and Pharisees" in Matthew 23) on topics that are major points of interest. These detours are very insightful. It is extremely generous on footnotes and references for those interested in research content. For those who don't mind parenthetical quotations (i.e., citing sources in the comments), this commentary will serve its academic and pastoral purpose. It is a great resource for any serious student, pastor, or scholar. I highly recomment it.
This commentary is a goldmine of wisdom for teaching (and I would assume for preaching, although as a layman I am very limited in that area). I have taught several Sunday school classes and led Bible studies on Matthew, and this is the text I find myself going back to time and time again for knowledge and insight. There are a number of excellent commentaries on Matthew, but this book is worth having to compliment almost any other commentary out there. My thanks to Professor Keener for his work on this volume and his tremendous two volume commentary of the Gospel of John. I am looking forward to reading more of his work in the future.
