About the Author
At some point in her life, Bethany has worked as a puppeteer, dog walker, art gallery owner, waitress, child-care provider, book/music seller, actor, sexual health resource clinic advisor, model, baseball score-keeper, customer-service evaluator, merchandiser, mystery shopping company owner, elderly care giver, phone book deliverer, hotel brochure canvasser, pre-school teacher, artist, music and performance venue coordinator, web designer and coder, community education teacher, census taker, election worker, Internet business owner, virtual assistant, standardized test scorer, Pilates studio manager, housekeeper for Bill Gates and Paul Allen, landlord and property manager, vacuum salesman, surveyor, tutor, marketer, project innovator, writer, small business consultant and revenue-generator, and of course, Ronald McDonald's bodyguard. All of these fabulous (and not so fabulous) experiences have led her to being dubbed, "Queen of the Random Job." After all, she needed ways to supplement her puppetry habit but still find ways to eat! After over 12 years of trial and error, she has finally found ways to share all of her hard-learned lessons and help others identify scams and find legitimate work. Bethany has created books, training programs, websites and resources to assist others on finding ways to make ends meet and still live their avant-garde passions. Since I'm more into entrepreneurship, this book was recommended to me to help me develop different income sources for my business. The first part of the book was mostly technical tips regarding scammers and Internet information. The fourth part really helped me see beyond my one method of earning money through the business and gave me some good tips into branching out. By far, it was the most useful part of the book for me personally. The middle sections gave real companies and ideas on how I could expand my current offerings through affiliate marketing, selling print-on-demand chachkies, chat-lines for customer support (or charging for consulting) and more. For anyone looking at work at home jobs or just ways to make extra money, sections 2 and 3 are definitely for you. The author gives a LOT of companies to work for, either as an employee or independent contractor.
Overall, this book is extremely useful for the work at home professional or entrepreneur.
The second and third parts of the book deal with finding random ways to make extra money, and real companies that offer flexible jobs or ones you can do from home. The fourth part of the book deals with starting your own business, brainstorming ideas, and motivation. It's a very thorough book, a quick read with a ton of useful information.
Her wit and personality shine through what could otherwise be a tedious read, and I found myself reading page after page, actually laughing out loud.
