Nozzle clean out plug in pump case. Corrosion resistant, engineered plastic tubing and fittings are easily removed for cleaning. Premium O-ring Impeller: F. D. A. compliant, glass filled Noryl. Corrosion and abrasion resistant. Diffuser (Guide vane): Bolt down diffuser provides positive alignment with impeller. Diffuser also has stainless wear ring for extended performance in abrasive conditions. F. D. A. compliant, injection molded, food grade, glass filled Lexan for durability and abrasion resistance. Tubing and Fittings: F. D. A. compliant engineered plastic is corrosion and U. V. resistant. Powered for Continuous Operation: Pump ratings are within the motor manufacturer's recommended working limits. Can be operated continuously without damage. Corrosion Resistant: Electro-coated paint process is applied inside and out, then baked on. Protected Mechanical Seal: Special diaphragm design retains water in the casing at all times to ensure the mechanical seal can never run dry. Excellent Air Handling Ability: After initial priming the pump has the ability to re-prime itself even when air gets into the system. Pumping resumes once the water level rises above the foot valve. Defective- Set-in rust where coating is missing

There were normal surface rusty water droplets from testing prior to shipping; not a problem. There are two spots with set-in rust where there is no coating baked on. I'm trying to replace a cheap Superior brand pump that had the coating flaking off and has been pumping rusty water through my pipes since day 1 so I'm not about to accept this defect. The coating seems good otherwise but these two spots cannot simply be wiped off and would only get worse should I install the pump.

The seller had the audacity to tell me the rust is normal on a brand new pump and that there is no problem.

How many brand new products do people by with rust on them? Just curious...

This pump is replacing my Gould's J-03 after 30 years of continuous use. I wouldn't consider another brand. I've seen other review concerns of rebuilds due to wet packaging. Working in frieght operations, I can confirm all pumps are factory tested including dishwashers and laundry machines. They will have some water left over inside from the quality control process/testing. These pumps are new.

We originally had a old 1/2hp SIMMER jet pump for our shallow well. It was fine enough, but you couldnt take a shower and have laundry going or laundry and dishwasher so we had to stagger everything. the well finally went "bad", cracked casing i think. I pounded in a new well and then hooked up the simmer to test if the pressure was good....we were getting MAYBE 2.5/3 gpm....I was going to pound it in further then we decided to try the GOULD and wallah! 8 1/2 - 9 gpm!! we are loving the amount of pressure we always get!

This is in the basement below our room. The floor has no insulation just open boards and then carpet so it is "loud" compared to having no noise there before. The first few nights were an adjustment, now i dont even notice it. Since it only kicks on at night when the Water Softeners REGEN at 2:30 am its not a big deal (or if someone is in the shower etc).

Im going to building a nice framed/insulated box to go over the pump and pressure tank to dampen the noise and make it look nicer. Since the basement floor is cool i think we will be ok and not overheat. will update when i do this to let you know.

It's nearly silent in operation, and it's easy to adjust the cut-on and cut-off pressures. I like the fact that it is completely re-buildable and the Goulds makes all the parts available to order. Should be the last pump I ever buy.

Screeching , whistling, pounding; we couldn't take it any mote and oh this winter did not help at all....after 13 years it was finally time for a new well pump and we actually had a hard time finding one locally here in NH. The pump came very quickly, was very easy to install and purr's like a kitten; we don't even hear it anymore. This was a very needed and smart purchase, I highly recommend this model.

This is the only pump to buy if you need a shallow well pump. It has a very good price and it is quiet. My plumber won't install any other pump.
He don't sell pumps, but if you need one he will go get one for you. I got this on from Amazon. It was here fast and he installed it and all is well for the next 20 years.
BUY this one and forget about the cheep pumps out there. If you don't, just remember what I said,,,, next year when you are looking out the window waiting for the plumber and when he is done you will have spent a few hundred dollars more than you would have if you got this one in the first place.....

This pump replaced a lower capacity pump and lower pressure rated unit. I am very pleased with the performance of this unit. It allowed me to go from a 30 - 50 psi system to a 40 - 60 psi system giving much better volume and pressure through the house and on the outside water usage applications that I have.

I would recommend this to anyone looking for a top quality replacement or initial application shallow well pump.
