Ground Coffee Beans
Best if using a mesh type filter (french press). A paper filter may remove some of the taste. Grind coffee beans to desired level (coarse for french press) and add hot (just off boiling) water and let it steep for 3 to 5 minutes before serving.

Sumatra blend was flavorful and could easily taste the earthy flavors but had an aftertaste that seemed bitter to me though a little sugar easily got rid of it. A friend of mine suggested it's due to it being the dark roast and went to one of the lighter samples and much better. To be honest if your a cigar smoker you will love this coffee.
Kenya was good you can smell the wheat and taste the chocolate easily enough. I liked adding a small amount of creamer and powdered peanut butter to this one.
Rwanda was interesting, if you dont like ginger you may not like this one as you taste it first and foremost. A little honey help balance the flavors and bring the caramel and brown sugar forward more but you will still taste the ginger.
Ethiopian was a shock to the mind. Its essentially tea, I love tea so I dont mind it but I was expecting coffee. It's still very good and flavorful but you taste everything but coffee.
Really an excellent buy.
I requested ground coffee, got whole beans. Yes, I am lazy. It is 4x4oz packages, I really didn't want to grind it myself for small amounts. That in of itself isn't a crime, but it was not a correct order. 4 ounces each is enough for a few pots of coffee, so don't worry about the size too much. This is a mid-priced artisanal coffee, so the value isn't too bad. If you love that coffee smell from the flavour hole in the bag, look elsewhere, cuz it ain't here.
This one is actually quite delicious! It has the funkiest smell (maybe too much acid or vinegar?), but the taste is divine! It is sweet and sour, but deliciously so. I truly enjoyed this coffee and am sad that the others I have had from the set have not held up to this standard. I moved this segment up because it is so overwhelmingly positive, I feel that you deserve to see the possible ups and downs of this purchase.
Burnt. That is the best way to explain it. It has some beautiful hints of a dark and deeply bitter taste, but it is wasted on these burnt beans. Starbucks gets a fair flak for over-roasting and then overcooking their coffee, if you have a problem with that, avoid this one. Give it to a friend maybe; definitely one that you don't like. This flavour alone makes me never want to order this brand again. I feel terrible for saying that too because I love to support artisans and smaller brands. :(
Well I did it. I finally had to throw coffee away. This was so burnt and gross that I couldn't drink it. My partner said my mouth smelled like I smoked a pack of cigarettes. I could make a joke of this is why Ethiopian children are starving, but it'd be in as poor taste as the coffee itself.
This review really hurt me to give, I love to compliment and see others succeed, but I also don't want to support bad coffee. I believe there are better artisan roasters out there more deserving of your money.
Each bag is an individual dose of coffee. The taste of each one is well defined and distinct. It has delicious fragrances

I brewed myself and others various grind sizes on espresso machine, bialetti moka pot as well as french press. Each time there was close to no aroma or specific flavour compared to other speciality coffee beans. Moreover, the other speciality coffee beans I usually buy from my city are twice cheaper.
I consider these beans highly overpriced for what they can offer!
One of the few if not the only interesting feeling I had was a propolis-like aftertaste for the Sumatra which I suppose is due to the ginger hints.
In conclusion, I do not recommend these beans because one can find much better taste and aroma for half the price.
