I have used these on fondant and on royal icing. They have worked for me every time. I have read a lot of reviews about the ink running out, but they haven't on me. I have used the same package of pens and they have decorated over 100 cookies so far and they are still going! I'll post a couple pictures of cookies I have actually detailed with this product.

Only caution is that they can be wet, so you have to be quick and precise with your writing. And use light pressure. If you need to repeatedly go back over your lines, you'll have issues.

After attempting to use Wilton food writers on candy melts (successfully, but difficult and very spotty), these AmeriColor food writers are a dream! They're so smooth, and make perfect, crisp lines. Plus, the tips are very flexible, so lines can be thin or thick, depending on the amount of pressure applied. I use them for candy chocolate-covered cake pops, and plan on keeping a supply of these markers on hand at all times!

I love these pens, they are great for decorating fondant pieces, icing, or cookies. The markers are taste-less but are very bright.

Edit: I bought these over a year ago and they have lasted a long time, I use them mostly for drawing on fondant and they work great. They slowly started drying out over 3ish months ago but I just dipped them into water to hydrate them. I didn't have to buy a new set till about a month ago when my black pen would no longer work. Overall I think this was a great buy! Lasted a lot longer than I thought it would.

Another note: I've had these new markers for about a year and a half and they are still going strong. Before I would take the markers out of the little plastic bag that they come in and have them sitting on my table, after a year they really started drying out. This time I left them in the baggie and always close it (it's like a ziplock baggie) this keeps them from drying out and I haven't had any problems this time around with them starting to dry out at the 1 year mark.

I highly recommend these markers of all brands that I have tried these are by far the best. No bleeding no thick lines and they are priced well! The colors are great and I am considering purchasing a back up set for when these run out!

At long last, an option for writing on melting chocolates! These are the only brand I've found so far that is able to do that. They still require a little coaxing and repeated strokes for the color to fill in solidly (and for that I give 4, instead of 5, stars), but the marker tip and shape really makes detailed decorating so much easier!

This product delivers on exactly what it promises. The pens have a nice fine tip on them so that you can make delicate designs on food items like fondant cakes and figures. I really can't imagine a food designer that does not have a set of these pens around to add creativity to their cakes, cupcakes or cookies! The colors come out so evenly and the tones are very vibrant. A truly wonderful product! A+++++!

I absolutely love these pens!! I use them all the time to write on fondant or even use them as the base for painting on fondant. Sometimes they run out quickly or I have to tap them against my hand to get the color to come out but honestly I get such wonderful results with them that I really don't mind. They're very affordable so I don't mind buying few packs at a time.

I own a home baking business and birthday, anniversary and wedding cakes are the bulk of my business. I ordered these to write messages on fondant when piping would be impractical and to draw flowers and other designs, again when piping would be impractical. I have also used these to quickly color in small flowers where before I would have hand-painted with watered down food coloring. They work just as well and in many cases are far faster than hand-painting while providing similar results. I've had nothing but success with these.
