I have not used the heating function, but that's not why I bought it. So if you're looking for a review on that function, look elsewhere. But if it's as efficient at applying heat as it is at removing heat, it should easily achieve temperatures of 100° or more.
If you need a small refrigerator to keep your six-pack cool, this really does the trick.
UPDATE: Well, here we are six months later and the cooling fan has died. On the plus side, it's a standard 80mm PC case fan. I've already ordered a replacement, and swapping it out will be cheap and easy. On the other hand, IT'S ONLY BEEN SIX MONTHS!! Knocking the item down one star because of that.
Also, regarding some people's comments about the directions saying to turn it off every 48 hours, the directions that came with my unit say nothing of the sort. No clue what that really means in practice, but I thought I would at least throw it out there.
So, even though I've only had this a couple of days, and maybe it will die in a couple of months, I'm tickled with it for now. It's really adorable and I've already received several compliments, with others showing interest in buying one for themselves. At $45 (for the blue one), well worth a try!
Before taking the cooler to my wife's office, I placed soda in the cooler, from the box. I wanted to know if the cooler would get the drink cold and keep it cold. The soda was room temperature (about 72 F). After four hours in the cooler, the soda was frigid. We placed more drinks in the cooler and left them over night. The next morning the drinks were cold. We did not test the "warmer" selection since we did not purchase the item for it is warming abilities.
The fan makes a little noise. In my wife's office environment, she does not notice the white noise from the fan. I will purchase another to keep in my truck for family outings (grandkids baseball games) since the cooler comes with AC and DC plugs.
Haven’t really used the heat option. I’d suggest it to someone for their office but not for heavy use. Just to keep your salad cool or already cold bottle of water cold.

Update 1.5 years later: The fan started to fail causing the power switch (HOW?) to get damp, short out and over heat. Even after cleanup it will now only heat. Oh well. Still not the worst for 49 bucks.
