Tried it out the first time. It ran flawlessly for about one hour 30 minutes on first charge. The only issue I have is that it is noisy - I was hoping the motor would be quieter. The charging time as per the manual is 16 hours. The first time though, you need to charge it for 24 hours. Thus technically speaking, you can do only one dish with this stirrer per day.

I was trying this out with milk - which has a tendency to overflow. Fortunately the design is good as the motor is above the level of the pot. Thus in case of overflow, it will not harm the motor. In my case overflow did happen, but there was no issue with the machine.

Update: After the first dish, I wanted to use it again. The battery was fully charged. But the motor stopped working. Dead. I called up the customer service number and they sent me a replacement. Speaks quite well of the customer support, but not much about the product.

Best purchase I have ever made - have used it to make pudding, caramel candy, risotto, etc. It allows me to do other prep work while the food is being stirred. Great item for any chef to own. Downside is it does not fit on pots that are less than 6-7".

I spend a lot of time in the kitchen making soups, sauces, stews, and preserves. All require almost constant stirring,so I was so excited to find and receive this product. It was working perfectly, couldn't have been happier. However, after 2 hours it beeped and stopped working. I figured it was the battery that needed recharging. I had to finish the soup by hand stirring. I recharged the battery for 24 hours but the unit failed to run. The only thing happened was it would turn about 1/2 inch every 15 seconds. The speed could not be adjusted. Input it back on the charged hoping that would help but after 10 more hours still the same 1/2 movement. Hardly what I consider stirring. Very disappointed. I am in the process now of trying to get a refund or replacememt.

Expensive, big and heavy. Not good for extreme high temps (candy, peanut brittle).

However, need something to continually stir creams, spaghetti then this will work just fine.

I brought this as a birthday present for a friend who loves to cook. It was easy to use with no assembly at all. She used it to make spaghetti sauce and it worked better than her hand stirring it. She then used it to make pudding with her grandson. Who thought it was the coolest thing ever. She loved it so much i am going to buy one for myself.

I tried making Polenta but the plastic arms just push the Polenta to the outside after it begins to thicken. So the Polenta makes a ring around the edge which does not move and the plastic flexible arms just stir nothing in the center of the pot. You could take a wooden spoon and just move the Polenta to the center but it is quickly moved to the edge again.

Great product when it worked. It has now stopped working, it does not charge even though the light shows the battery shows that it is charged. I called the company and was told they would get back to me in a few hours. It has been three days! Still waiting

Update:

Happy to report that I was given a refund. Thank you very much. I wish I could get a replacement but I will purchase a comparable item since the Gourmia is not available. I appreciate the quick response since I posted my review.

I’m a professional toffee maker and I bought this to replace a stirrer made by another brand that broke. This one is so much quieter and works just as well as the other one so I bought another one to replace that one. So simple to use and clean and saved my arm.

It works quite well for a budget self stirrer.
Pros:
It can secure it`s self to different sizes of pots, has not burnt anything, can stir decently chunky things, easy to use
Cons:
Came off the pot by itself (vibrations i guess) after ~15 minutes of stirring - not a super big deal

Over all it does what it's supposed to, and its a safe buy if you want one.

I bought it to keep milk from crusting at the bottom of a cooking 🍳 pot, and that didn't work, still end up with the same amount of crusted milk, also really noise.
