Rodney, Madison's, husband, thought he was doing the right thing when he gained full custody of their twins. He offered love, protection, and support for their babies but later found himself paying a huge price as he learn an important lesson on how to listen to God's calling and to forgive in order to be forgiven.
No Grace without Mercy was such a refreshing read. This book has touched the inner depths of my soul on so many levels. I laughed, cried, got angry, but most of all learned that it is always better to forgive so you in return can be forgiven and also become free of the bondage of bitterness. God knows what's best and all things are done according to His plan. Dorothy Goings has definitely out done herself on this one. This book is indeed a pure blessing for anyone who gets their hands on it.
I understood Grace’s struggle to forgive Madison (mother). She ignored her pain because her loyalty to Rodney (father) was much greater. I also understood how Mercy chose to look pass the pain of rejection and abandonment she encountered so that she could embrace the burning desire to have Madison in her life.
Ms. Effie (grandmother) was a praying and loving woman. She provided stability for Grace & Mercy. She was also a voice of reasoning for the entire family.
I am reminded that no matter what we face as human beings; we should always have a trusted person that will provide a safe haven and keep us accountable. Hidden sin/secrets has the potential to destroy our lives. Madison would agree with me whole-heartily. The first 14 years of Grace & Mercy’s life was nonexistent to Madison because of the secret she felt that she couldn’t share with anyone.
This story had my emotions all over the place! I was able to reflect and see how God has had a ubiquitous presence in my life. I was able to vividly see areas in my life that I had suppressed and needed to acknowledge. My faith has increased tremendously and my thirst to love more and to be loved is now more sought after.
*This is a MUST read!!!

In No Grace Without Mercy, within each sentence and for sure each paragraph the reader is baptizes into emotions we can feel in our own souls. The responses to all the emotions and struggles are stories within themselves, as it is in life. This is a sensational journey into the depths of a woman's tearing apart in her mind and heart. This wonderful book gives us real human lifelong results of inner struggles that most of have no idea of the perils of depression. The greatness of Dorothy Goins writing is not slick; even though she guides the reader smoothly from line one. All the way through the reader will feel the character's pains, uncertainties, and joys and all the effects it can have on others.
If one feels they are losing their grip on reality, No Grace Without Mercy, tells the story of what all else a person can lose that can surely take the mind away for good. No Grace Without Mercy, is about faith, and mercy. No Grace Without Mercy, is a beautifully well-written engaging masterpiece-- a tale for all to read and to grow. No Grace Without Mercy, takes souls to their knees and bring them to tears and heavens. There is a good chance this fictional tale can help anyone, help someone else.
